Would your colon cause a very bad burning when a male unrinates?  Also what is the best antibotic (antibiotic) for a bad bladder infection?  Also would a hot bath help with a bladder infection?  I need the answer to these questions soon as possible.

Hi,  Burning when a male urinates is usually a bladder infection or a urethral infection. Colon problems usually do not cause urinary burning. A urine culture will makes the diagnosis of the bladder infection.  If you have just a burning sensation in the urethra while voiding, and possible a urethral discharge, a urethritis is likely.  Other causes include a urethral stricture or other structural problem.  You need to see your primary care doctor for the urine culture and a urethral swab to rule out chlamydia, gonorrhea or other sexually transmitted diseases. The best antibiotic depends on what the infection is. If all the cultures and swabs come up normal, you will need a referral to a Urologist for a look down the urethra in the office with a thin scope to rule out a structural problem. Good Luck.
