Another thing, I don't usually like to reccomend medications but in your case if you are desperate I do have a suggestion. Clonazepam, which is a mild sedative, I found relaxes the bowels very efficiently and relieves the bloating and stomach pains withing 30 - 60 minutes. Depending on your ability to sleep or not will depend on your dosage. I have choronic insomnia and am able to take 0.5 mg without feeling lethargic but you could be different. When my symtoms where accute years ago I would take those 3 times a day, but because it can be an addictive drug, and I am a recovering alcoholic, I stopped taking them and now manage it with foods, acitivities, and definately reduced stresses.

Another thing, after you eat be sure not to lie down because it inhibates digestion.

First of all try exercising a little, even though your belly is probably bloated, because it will bet your digestion moving and will help release all foods within your digestive tract.

Try taking digestive enzymes before and/or after depending on which enzymes are recommended to you by a doctor, naturopath, or .....

Sourdough bread, I don't know why is supposed to help.

Stay away from liquid foods or drinking water while eating until the aggrivation subsides.
Raw fruits and vegetables are also hard on our guts with IBS. Regarding your fruit try and stay with maybe a banana, or a fruit with not much water in it becuase that could easily be causing you grief.

When you eat your omelet, only eat the egg whites because egg yolks are usually, not always, a sensitive food for IBS.

Everyone is sensitive to different foods, but try eating small, small meals and do a bit of walking. I spent a month once on just bagels because those were easy on my stomach. What works for you, I don't know.

As much as it is hard make sure!! you stay away from coffee or alchohol until this flare up subsides.
