Diarrhea

Until this morning I hadn't had a bowl movement in almost 3 days. This morning I noticed my abdomen making all kinds of weird noises and movements. I thought it was due to being constipated so I took took miralax. Mayne 2 minutes later I felt like. I had to pass gas and pooped a little (diarrhea ) instead. I laid down for a few hours and woke up with more diarrhea. Now I'm afraid. Does this sound serious? It is unlike me to go 3 days w/o a bowel movement and the fact that I got diarrhea instead is really worrying me. I don't think I had anything bad to eat.

Yesterday I had a 5 hour energy shot, a cup of black tea, a couple of Vienna sausages, a handful of cheetoes, a grilled cheese and some ramen noodles. Not a healthy diet I know, but I didn't have anything that had a chance of being bad or anything. I did have cough syrup and benadryl ( and I take benadryl to sleep every night. It usually makes me go to the bathroom but it hasn't the past few days. Which also concerns me ). My father tells me he had diarrhea Fri or Sat.

Dear first stop consuming the odd foods. Try to drink the diluted yogurt (adding little salt) and the water by boiling the sago or tapioca (little sugar added). These can replace the lost electrolyte and helps in feeling food. These foods works well for constipation as well as the issues related to the diarrhea.
Hope you recover soon :)

Well, I haven't had a BM today but I can still feel things bubbling around in my stomach, if you know what I mean... I put  sriracha sauce in my ramen. I'm looking at it now. It doesn't have  an expiration date, but it does say  it's best used before 09/2011. I use this . Often and haven't gotten sick from it before...

Hello,
You did not have stools for 3 days.. One way to ease a daily BM is:
Drink 2 glasses of water first thing in the morning after you wake up, do not even gargle, just drink. If you make this a habit everyday, it will make you go everyday.

Benadryl can be habit forming , it will be difficult to go to sleep without it.. You're too young to get hooked on sleeping pills.

One better choice and healthier way for sleep is to take Magnesium supplement. MAGNESIUM CITRATE, take it as it would say on the bottle. It will help you two ways-- help you sleep soundly, get youR body relaxed and reduce anxiety, and help you have a regular BM..
Mg requirement for women is 320 mg. 400 mg for men..

Gwyneth Paltrow uses Mg  for sleep - as she mentioned about her health habits  on Dr Oz a few months ago..  ..
Avoid  Magnesium OXIDE this one will cause loose stools and you will lose the desired effect of Magnesium.

Good luck, keep us posted.

Please check all the ingredients in the foods you consumed yesterday.
Your body, I guess was just not ready to accept all that without some protest.

I would pay more attention to the chemicals in those foods.
Citocoline can cause diarrhea-5H energy drink
MSG is one of the worse additives-4 differen types of MSG in cheetos
and 40% of Americans have a sensitivity to MSG. Also  MSG Symptom Complex is more prevalent these days.
Noodles and vienna sausages may also contain MSG and other questionable chemicals.

As for your sleep issues, perhaps identifying the cause, might serve you better than taking benadryl every night to fall asleep.
There are many associated side effects and risks involved with prolonged intake.

Taking better care of your health, by making wiser choices, will ensure in the long term less health complications in your life.

Wishing you well.
Niko
