Thank you so much. Thanks a million
First of all, what symptoms are you experiencing with your IBS? Both diarrhea and constipation do cause a burning sensation in the anus. In the case of constipation, that burning sensation is more likely to be anal fissures. With diarrhea, it's more likely to be the acid in the watery stool causing irritation to the anus. Since my symptoms are more on the constipation end, I don't know a lot of home remedies for IBS with diarrhea. But, I do know that diet plays a big role in how your IBS affects you. Many of us are gluten intolerant and maybe don't realize it. This is true whether the symptoms are diarrhea or constipation. If I eat gluten, I have more constipation and cramps. Dietary fiber is recommended for both kinds of symptoms of IBS. I know of two OTC remedies for diarrhea. When I was a kid, my mother used to give me Peptobismol, since I would get diarrhea whenever I had a stomach virus. Tastes nasty. Immodium-D is another brand for anti-diarrhea. I've seen a store brand of anti-diarrheal medication at Walgreens yesterday. Since I haven't needed anti-diarrheal medications for a really long time, I don't know if it's the same active ingredient as in Immodium-D or not, but I can assume that it is.
If you have chronic diarrhea, you're bound to lose weight. The biggest concern with chronic diarrhea is dehydration and losing nutrients. Your electrolytes can become out of balance with diarrhea, too, which is very dangerous and can cause other health issues, such as renal failure (kidney failure). If you're experiencing chronic diarrhea, please see your doctor for helpful advice, because this is very serious.
