Hi, when my daughter was 11, she would complain about her stomach hurting a lot, she also would get diarrhea with bad cramps and a lot of blood. I took her to the doctor, who then sent us to children’s hospital. She had a ton of testing done and they didn’t find anything wrong. After a few years of testing and different doctors, around the age of 16 she was finally diagnosed with c-diff.
I was told that they never checked her for that because of her age and she didn’t match all the symptoms, like she didn’t always have diarrhea and sometimes her stool was hard and they said she wouldn’t have c-diff with her stool being hard. After finding out that’s what she had, I did a ton of my own research. I read that they can have hard stool and not always bloody stool. It is cause by excessive antibiotic use and most people that have it are older. A lot of people in nursing homes get it. No matter what any doctor tells you, they might not fit every criteria to have something. If they would have looked for c-diff earlier, my daughter would have not had to suffer as long as she had and my medical bills wouldn’t be so out of hand! So maybe ask for them to test for that, if anything to rule it out.
hi im kirsty im 22 years old. Ive suspected ive had I.B.S for around 7 years now, it was only late last year 2009 (Sept - Oct time) that my doctor confirmed that i had suspected I.B.S! (i had moved from cheshire to the west midlands for 3 and a half years then moved back to cheshire, so was hard to track medical records). I still haven`t had any tests. I have had rectal bleeding on and off for longer then 7 years and had the awful stomach cramps and pains, i found that this was almost (99% of the time) everytime i needed to go to the toilet (number 2). My mum and sister (before she gave birth to my niece 16 months ago) both suffered from the same symptoms. I have been speaking to my mum with regard to family history, i have history of very heavy periods. Especially myself, my mum and my mums mother (grandmother) and there is also history of the same problems as me with regards to bowel problems.
It may sound strange (i am still trying to get my own head around it) but i am wondering if things like rectal bleeding, I.B.S and heavy periods are hereditary same as thrombosis, and varicose veins (spelling?) and other family health issues (not necessarily from either mother or father).
i really don`t mean to cause any worry or anxiety, but it may be worth you looking into family history from both mother and father.
i really hope this helps you and especially your daughter.
i agree with the diet idea. i think it will really help.
all the best and hope everything gets sorted.
kirsty, from cheshire.
xx
My daughter has had rectal bleeding several times. After she received gardasil......
I agree that Gardasil is bad and is causing these young girls to suffer needlessly. Go to mercola.com, type in Gardasil in the search bar. There you will find information about how bad Gardasil is and how it's actually useless for these young girls to get these shots. It's also been the drug manufacturer's propoganda to get people to buy into the hype about "one less". It is one of the worst vaccines on the planet. Okay, enough said about Gardasil.
Perhaps you could look into the food elimination challenge diet. Food sensitivities are usually behind IBS symptoms. Find a naturopath to help you through the elimination diet. It's not really hard to understand. The challenging part is to stick with it with the patience and endurance necessary to go through the elimination diet. I have had fewer IBS symptoms after going through the elimination diet. I have the opposite end of the spectrum of IBS symptoms, but the elimination diet will work to help you discover which food sensitivities are the culprits.
I was miserable as a kid, but because I didn't present with diarhea like your daughter has, I had to suffer in silence, because my mother, in particular, wouldn't take me seriously. I can only imagine the years of suffering I could've been spared. I'm glad your daughter doesn't have to go through the part of not being taken seriously! <3
I don't know what else to suggest, other than looking into the diet, if this is IBS and not something more serious.
I have an 18 year old daughter with these same symtoms. Her colon is fine as tests show today. Did your daughter by chance get the Gardasil shots? Just wondering. This is when all this seems to have started with my daughter. I was wondering if others feel the same?
