Lft's and exercise

My AST/ALT levels were 430/189 2 days post boot camp workout. My legs and hips were extremely sore. I did not workout for 7 days and AST went to 88 and ALT was in normal range. Should I be concerned with such high levels with exercise. Should I forgo boot camp for something less strenuous?

Thanks. Since my post I stopped boot camp and LFT's returned to normal.

What liver disease do you have?

Strenuous exercise can increase AST and ALT levels.
"Elevations of the AST level may be seen in acute muscle injury, cardiac or skeletal muscle. Lesser degrees of ALT level elevation may occasionally be seen in skeletal muscle injury or even after vigorous exercise."

The most authoritative source for information about your own particular health status and how your should manage it would be your doctor. Talk to your doctor about your exercise routine.

Cheers!
