High Liver Numbers

HI everyone-

I am 40 and in good shape. I workout 5 days a week, run 1/2 marathons, and I eat pretty clean.  I may have 2 drinks a month (ususally wine).  I was feeling very flu like about a month ago and it lasted about 10 days.  I called my dr and she ran a few tests.  I tested positive for Epstein Barr and my liver enzymes were high 68/149.  She just retested me about 2 week later and they are HORRIBLE!  288/564.  I have an ultra sound this next week.  I tested neg for hep c but my hep a test did show that I had been exposed but it was an old infection and not the cause for my elevated numbers.  My hep b test has not came back from the lab. I have looked on the interenet and it is so scary!  I really don't have a ton of symptons.  I am a school teacher and a mother of 3 boys and was wondering am I contagious?  Should I still be teaching?  I am afraid to find out that I have liver cancer or disease and it snuck up on me. Thanks for any insight or advice.

My counts were up high also. Went against doctors advise and research natural remedy and found Thistle MIlk was great for healing liver After one and half yrs my liver tests are back to normal. Docter still will not give Thistle MIlk credit. Never did take medication

If your questions are about Epstein Barr (which is not a liver disease), please post your questions in the proper forum where people with the disease can help you.

As far as your liver enzymes...you have to wait until you have a diagnosis of a condition or disease before we can offer any advice about your liver. When you get your diagnosis and it is related to liver disease then we can help you. When we have something to base our opinion on.

You need to talk to your doctor, get your hep B results back and get a diagnosis.

Good luck.
