Lung Cancer

by Tangla, Nov 04, 2009 09:53AM
My dad has had a CT Scan which showed a shadow on his upper left lobe of his lung. Followed by the CT Scan he has had a Bronchoscopy, Ultra Sound and a Pet Scan done. Due to the location of this mass on his lung, a history of blot clot and poor lung function a biopsy was not recommended by his consultant. Just to satisfy the consultant's views my dad was put in contact with a thoraxic surgeon and he recommended an open lung biopsy but it comes with risks.

Please someone let me know what to do and if they have come across this situation. Your reply most appreciated. The consultant also said that my dad will not be offered any treatments as biopsy is not done to confirm the mass being cancerous.

Thanks
