What is the significance of a nodule being located in the lower right lobe? Is the location or the number of tne nodules indicative of more or less likelyhood of cancer?
Hi,
How are you? Lung nodules or small masses of tissue in the lung are common and may appear as round, white shadows on a chest X-ray or CT scan. The more significant finding is the size of the nodule since a larger nodule size, 25 mm or larger, is more likely to be cancerous than is a smaller lung nodule. It is best that you discuss the result of your imaging study with your doctor for proper evaluation. Other factors such as medical history, symptoms and physical examination findings are also important considerations. Take care and best regards.
