right lobe nodule

Diagnoised with pneumonia 1 month ago. Put on three different courses of non-penicillin treatments. (Allergy to penicillin).Had three chest x-rays, one ct sca. Found 3m sized noduole in right lobe. Doctor said cause was the pneumonia. Will follow up in 6 days of my current treatment and another ct scan in 6 to 8 weeks. Worried because the nodule could be cancer? Used to smoke quit 12 years ago. Always had bronchoitis. Could you help me to understand these problems and am I worried for nothing because the cause for the noduole is the pneumonia. Thanks.
