3 sets of xrays have showed either a hole or bubbles in my husbands right lung. Went to doctor initially complaining of shoulder pain, which has been hurting for several months. MRI done, scheduled for Cat scan today and appointment with pulmonoligist Monday. Some wheezing, extremely tired and pain has radiated to mid back. What could this be?
Hi,
Your description of the xrays probably refers to lung cycts. These may be caused by several possible reasons, ane of which is an infection called hydatid disease.
Another possibility is multiple lung abscesses, and a remote possibility is a form of bronchiectasis (although this disease would have a long, recurrent history)
I would be interested to learn what the CT/MRI show.
