I think my mental outlook is much better just due to the fact that I am actively doing something to try to improve my situation as opposed to that monotonous, 'We don't know/ Let's wait and see", etc. loop I've been stuck in.
So far I think the main thing I've noticed is that I'm more tired, but it makes sense that I would be tired if my immune system is getting into the fight again. It was funny that this weekend while we were at our oldest daughter's graduation I told my husband that I was feeling a little too much like a college student myself: like I had drank way too much and neglected to go to bed! But it is even worse when it is NOT self inflicted! I remember describing my symptoms as feeling constantly sleep deprived w/ a flu style hangover when I first felt sick after returning from the forest fire where I think I was first bitten. I laughed when I read Jackie describe it the same way on Maria's thread! :)
I didn't want to take up most of the trunk w/ all my meds and supplements, so I pared down and made the discovery that I definitely don't want to skimp on the detox/flushing protocol during treatment again. It didn't take long for things to build up in my system and give me all over body aches. Before I slacked up on my daily quart of dandelion tea and a natural body-cleansing agent that is rich in natural silica and 14 other trace minerals. I wasn't feeling too badly. Diatomaceous earth absorbs mercury, E. coli, endotoxins, viruses, and organo-phosphate pesticide residues, drug residues, and proteinaceous residues produced by bacterial infections. I have used it before during treatment for a cold of flu or something, but I wasn't sure it did anything. Now, I am thinking it does work, but I don't know if I'm willing to slack on it again to see if there is a difference! I spent the weekend feeling a little like I had been in a car wreck. Do/have any of you use(d) diatomaceous earth to try to scrub up all the dead little bacteria? Did you think it helped?
I am still a little worried that my doctor prescribed Doxy for one month #1, when I now think I have had Lyme's for 10 years. Is the combination w/ the Cefdinir supposed to prevent the cyst formation aspect? I think I got first got sick in '02 and then got bit again last October and all hell broke loose worse than the first time. But even if I've only had it since October, that is still disseminated Lyme, isn't it?
I can't say that I've had any dramatic improvement, but I did go on a short but relatively intense hike yesterday and did pretty well with it, too. That is the first time in months I've felt like expending that much effort willingly, so I don't know if there is already some improvement in my stamina or just my attitude, but whatever it is, I'll take it!
