can this be lymes

for a couple weeks my elbows hurt and my arms tired easy. other than that I felt fine. then all of a sudden my vision blacked out for a few seconds with a hot flash. when my vision came back it was blurry and I had several floaters in each eye. my vision has mostly come back but floaters remain. over the next 3 months I have had constant headache, muscle twitches everywere, some night sweats, brain fog, sore shoulders and knees and back, weak arms and pins/needles in hands, burning sensation in chest and feet and contantly numb left face, hip pain. I alread was tested for lupus and mri for ms and all was fine. some symptoms come and go and some have resolved. just met with a llmd who took blood and sent it to igenex. results not back yet. he put me on azithromycin and mepron for possible babs coinfection. does this sound like lymes? had a few ticks on my close 3 years ago playing golf but never had rash or got sick till now. did not see tick attatched. been on meds for a week but no herx reaction. does everyone herx?

Would you mind posting your results from IGeneX? Both the IgG and IgM?

you mention the testing was inconclusive.

thanks

Hello rowjer,
I'm curious what your findings were since I have very similar symptoms: the bust of floaters/weird vision issues along with peripheral neuropathy symptoms. I was tested for Lyme by Igenix twice and came back inconclusive (IGM positive, IGG negative). Similar to you, the battery of other tests all come back negative. Do you have a firm diagnosis?

join the lyme club...there are lots of people out there with normal test results and their docs saying "everythings normal"....or it's all in your head....or maybe you're depressed....!

imo, I believe if we feel lousy there IS a reason..

keep asking questions,,and keep learning about lyme disease.

Thanks. Been to a optho who said no damage due to ms but he does see all the floaters. Went to a retinal surgeon who said same thing.  Also had a Brain Mri and Nerve conduction testing by Nuero who said no ms. Sick of feeling like this for more than 3 months. Also been to rheum who did alot of bloodwork. He said no lupus or auto immune disease.

Great question for your lyme doc!  I can offer this: people with MS have lots of vision problems,,a rather standard symptom of MS. I was diagnosed with MS and over the years had different vision problems. vision problems are also Standard with LD.

I would guess your llmd will suggest you see an eye doctor to "rule" things out. Mine does.

best to you
