AF late again

my cycle has been 288 days but in november I was almost 2 weeks late, AF came on 12/01.
Around the 27th I started having some mild cramping so I was sure AF was about to arrive, I had some more cramping for the next 2 days and now nothing, no cramping at all, my boobs aren't tender at all, nothing.
I don't want to take a test until I get some kind of symtoms (symptoms) because I hate being dissapointed (like I did last month with 3 neg. tests).
I have no idea if and when I ovulated because I can never tell by the discharge, all I know is that since I got off the pill, ovulation has been painfull except last month and this month.
If I am not pregnant, any idea what makes my period so irregular latelly?
I haven't been under anymore stress than usual
