How far along into the pregnancy are you? BP tends to drop until about part way through the 2nd trimester. My BP was pretty close to yours for about 6 weeks and is now about 120/60.
Your numbers are at the lower end of the "normalNormal saline flush" range BUT without knowing how far along into the pregnancy you are, whether you were feelings stressed at your appointment, what your pre-pregnancy BP was, or what your BP values have been at previous appointments it is hard to comment. Dehydration can cause a drop in BP which is likely why your doctor wants to make sure you are getting plenty of fluids.
I am 13 weeks tomorrow. My normalNormal saline flush range was about the same yours is now, about 120/60. Wasn't stressed at the appointment. My BP has been gradually dropping, and this is the lowest. I shouldn't be dehydrated as I drink plenty of water already...well not 80 oz like she recommended...more like 40 oz of water along with juice at lunch and dinner. I weigh 124. Don't know if that helps...Did anything other than time help you?
You story sounds EXACTLY like mine! In fact, there were two occasions where I almost passed out which Im pretty sure was related to low blood pressurePressure ulcer and I had other issues like feeling light headed if I stood for too long . Time DEFINITELY has helped and I no longer have those problems - I believe BP starts to rise again about mid-way through the 2nd trimester.
Another thing to note is dehydration could still have been a problem in your case. Pregnant women actually require more water than those that are not pregnant to prevent dehydration so it is VERY important to make sure you are drinking more than enough fluids. My doctor stressed this to me very strongly and I drink close to 100 oz of water a day to make sure dehydration does not become a problem! Not fun when your bladder is squished to part of its former glory.
That's a fine blood pressure. People would kill to have blood pressures like that. Don't worry about it, and all pregnant ladies should drink at least 60-80 oz of water a day, anyway.
I have been trying really hard to drink what the Dr. recommended and my BP was 100/58 today at the Dr. appt. I will keep trying. Thanks for your messages.
