Bath time has become wrestling time

Bath time has become wrestling time

Jacob cannot sit up by himself yet.  I've been bathing him in the baby tub, but it has become a total wrestling match.. the whole time he is trying to roll over.  Today I tried bathing him in the big tub and that was a total flop too.  He kept trying to roll over and when I would hold him sitting up, he was all over the place, trying to lay down on his belly and wiggling all over the place.... I had to just poor the water over his head to get the shampoo out, so I could just get him out of there... by the end of the bath, I am POOPED.

I tried giving him toys but he just drops them and then tries going after them.

Any advice???

ahh he doesnt know he is a baby still lol.  maybe take a bath with him.  get one of the bathtub seats that help hold them up.  bathe him in the kitchen sink without a baby tub.

LOL, I was just going to suggest a toy, but then I scrolled down and saw you do that.  I give Ethan a washcloth to suck on.  Now that he is bigger he gets a toy...but always drops it too.  I still wash him in the baby bath in the sink, it is a reallu curved bath tub so he cant move around too easily.  I bought a bigger one for the bath tub, I just havent made the transistion yet

i still wash addy in her baby tub in the sink.  her seat for the tub is hard to lift her to wash her goodies lol and with a shower door its hard to maneuver.  i will do whatever to keep my back from hurting more than it does.

Oh great my bath has a shower door too.  I was wondering how it was going to work...LOL.  I will probably have to get my waders on and go in with him.  I guess I will just have to have DH knock out our existing sink and stick in a bigger one!

have you tried those cheap foam teddy bear mats they put in the bottom of the tub? you use it with very little water in the bottom of the tub. i assume if he is rolling that well, he can hold his head up pretty well too. then, if he rolls over, you just take it as an opportunity to wash the hiney! you don't have to worry about him squirming out of the tub.
in retrospect, i wish i had just gotten one of those for a couple of bucks. now, in storage, i have the infant- toddler tub she used til 6 months and the tub seat she used til 10.

I do have the teddy sponge and used it in the big tub with him last night but probably put too much water in there...

I probably should just put a lot less water and then let him roll over if he wants too...

Oh and he reaches for everything in eye sight.. it is like I need another pair of hands... :)

He is so cute tho.. maybe I will try the kitch sink thing also.

I agree with putting very little water in the tub and just let him splash around on his belly.

That's such a cute age when they love their bathtime!

I agree with perty. The kitchen sink worked real well for me, and saved on having to put up with a backache.
