I was curious if anyone knows if HCG levels can show twins, at 3 weeks mine was 1256 and now 2 days later Im waiting for my results from this morning...anyone???
HCG levels will be higher for twins, than singletons.
When you say you are three weeks pregnant, do you mean you "conceived" 3 weeks ago? If this is the case, you are technically 5 weeks pregnant and your HCG levels are consistent with this .
If you are 3 weeks pregnant, you would have conceived a week ago and your HCG levels would be barely detectable, even with twins.
I was slosely monitored when I had the miscarriage and everything went back to normalNormal saline flush, I go to a high risk clinic, so far this week I have been to the doctor twice, and I had my 1st ultra sound today and more blood work, Im waiting now for the nurse to call back with the numbers from today
My levels from Wednesday were 2222 the nurse said that was great she said they dont always double but they should come close, another blood test and ultrasound tomorrow...Im soooo excited
hi everyone,
wondering if my beta HCG levels of 650 taken at 14 days post ovulation sounds kind of high? the word 'twins' comes to mind. i should be patient, ultrasound in 2 weeks. cheers, Tania
a friend of mine on here was due the same day as I was and our HCG levels were always very close she was having a singleton and I had twins....so not always can you go by high HCG levels
It is supposed to double every 48 hours. Yours is going up fast, but it is hard to tell exactly how fast because you just said "a week later," and then "a week later." Do you mean precisely 7 days after the first blood draw, you had another one, and then 7 days after that, you had another, or were you speaking generally? You might make a calendar, and look up your exact blood-test dates and numbers, and make a little chart. Start with the 64 on the day you got it, and then double the amount every 48 hours. (I.e., 64 + 64 = 128, which it should have been at least by 2 days after the test. Then 128 + 128 is 256, it should have been at least 256 two days later. Keep figuring until you get to the dates of your tests and see how they compare.) The comparison of the chart you make showing what the numbers would be if they were simply doubling every 48 hours, with the numbers you in fact got on specific days, will tell you how fast it is going up. If the number is totally rocketing, see what your doctor has to say about the possibility of either molar pregnancy (bad) or multiples (good). I hope it is all good!
You can also google HCG calculator, and you can input your HCG level and the dates of the test. It will give you a doubling time...ie. my first HCG was 52...9 days later it was 2700. It gave me a doubling time of approximately 1.59 days.

HCG levels for someone that is 3 weeks pregnant is typically 5 - 50 mIU/ml
