Hello all just an update I am going to be induced on Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. I am soooooo excited!  I am currently 2 1/2 cm dilated, 80% effaced.  I just hope it works. Can anyone give me a clue how it will go?  I mean of course no labors are the same but, what will they do when I get there and so on?  Anyone else getting close to labor?  Anyone have good or bad stories of inducing?  I just hope it goes really fast!  2 More days!!!  Yay!  Here comes my baby girl!  Mommy and Daddy are waiting honey!  Thanks all and Open Forum!

Thats great that you are already 80% thinned (thats where alot of the trouble can be trying to get thin) I was 5cm & 80% (when i was induced)& delivered 4.5 hrs later Hope things are speedy for you especially since you already so thin on your own LOVE & PRAYERS

Hi there!! I'm happy to hear you're baby is going to be joining you shortly! I just had mine 2 days ago and got induced :) I was 2cm and not effaced at all. My labor was 2 hours and 55 minutes. I had a few contractions and they didn't hurt, then they started getting a little more crampy, and they decided to break my water, once she did that the cintractions kicked in good!! Then I dilated to 5cm then 8-9 in an hour and 15 min later was ready to push! This is my 4th so I'm sure it may have gone a little faster for that reason but you shouldn't have anything to worry about being you are already dilated and effaced. Which is great! It shows your cervix is favorable. I got my epidural right away too so I didn't have hardly any pain at all!! I hope all goes well with you and that your labor is quick and easy and you have a beautiful healthy baby :) You'll be in my thoughts and prayers! Keep us updated :)

How many weeks are you?

I have 10 days to go until my due date and will not be induced until 41 1/2 weeks.  I am bummed about it and hope she comes sooner.  I have heard different things about being induced.  Not sure what to expect except I was told the contractions are harder and faster when you are induced.  

I don't think I can stand the waiting for another week.  I really want to hold my baby girl.

I was induced with both of mine. I can't tell you the drugs they use, cause I won't even try to spell them. They put an iv in and start inducing u. They put something inside of you to help induce as well. After a while you feel it. The doc. will break your water and your on your way. Why are they inducing you? It's a lot harder on you. It makes the labor pains harder. Don't flip out. It's all worth it. The doc. induced me early because if I would of gone full term my daughter would of been 12 pounds! She came three weeks early a healthy nine pounds, 21 1/2 inches. I ended up having a c - section because she was stuck. She didn't want to come out. I had a epideral. It goes in your back, it sounds bad, but trust me it's great. Mine broke because I wouldn't stop flipping around. I was induced at 12 noon monday and had her tues. night at 8:47 pm. My second was the same, induced 12 noon, but she was born mon. night at 9:12. I had back labor with the second. Remember, pucs like you are going #2. Sounds weird, I know. That's what they told me . I am about 40 1/2 weeks but I have been measuring two weeks farther the whole time.  I asked the doctor to induce.  I actually asked him to last week.  See I have had a really bad UTI since month 8 and I cannot seem to get over it.  I am really tired of that and hopefully after I have the baby I can finally get rid of it.  But mostly I asked because I can just barely wait any longer to see her.  That and all the crazyness of all the family calling... every... single... day asking if it is time yet, or how I am feeling, or what is taking so long, or don't forget to call me, or we are all waiting, or all the other **** that goes along with it.  Do they not know that no matter how much 'they' are ready you are like 1,000 times more ready?!  Grrr sorry just had to vent a little.  Oh yah the big one happens to be MIL.  lol so that should clear some things up.  Well jg good luck with the little one was it a boy or girl?

I am 80% effaced and 1 cm dilated.  This is my first baby.
Do you think if I were to be induced is that good?  I hope to hear this Friday that I am dilated even more.  Hubby and I are starting to BD more hopefully that will help.  I am due 9/14 and hope to move the natural process along more quickly.  My back pain is really getting to be unbearable.  I cannot sit stand or lie down comfortably at all.

I was induced with both of mine--delivered two healthy boys--wwent 1 week over both time--big babies.  I went in at 6 in the morning they prep you with paper work, blood draws and hook you up to monitors--get your IV started--My doctor broke my water by 8 am and I was on my way--I was only given Pitocin--the town I am does not do epidurals-so I don;t have experience with that.  
MY first took 8 1/2hrs from water breaking till delivery.  Second one took 4hrs--that was more intense and less time to focus on keeping the contractions under control.  Just try to make sure you have a focal point to look at to keep you focused. Good luck and enjoy every minute of that new baby.

The great thing is you are already so thin, although I was already 5cm & I held off on the epidural til I was 7cm b/c I've always heard the sooner you get an epi that sometimes slows your dilating down. However we are all diff. But if it were me I'd hold off on being induced, I prayed that I'd go in for a regular pren. visit & then the Dr would just send me on over to the L/D room. God answered So I was pain free had no idea I was in labor at the Dr visit I was 5cm  80% thinned on my own so the Dr sent me on over to be induced b/c she said placenta was dettaching & my B/P was high. I felt no pain til they induced & she broke my water then I felt cont. & got the epi at 7cm. So unless there was a medical reason I'd hold off. But if you wanna go ahead since you are so thin already they say it usually takes an hour per cm to dialate, but if wait it out on your own in a wk or so you could go into labor on your own since you thin. I just prayed for my body & baby to line up together so this would baby to be born fast & healthy and that worked:) (Doing it again w/ this one on the way)So pray & take care. Also just sleep your heart out til the time arrives :) LOL LOVE & PRAYERS

ty everyone for the replies...  It is good to know that it has worked out for other ppl.  My blood pressure is also high I think that is why he decided to do it.  It is not really high I didn't ask for the numbers but it went up from last visit.  Well I am really excited and will update when I get home.  (hopefully thursday)  *crosses fingers*  Good luck to everyone else close to labor and also not so close...  And Baby Dust to all TTC!
