HCG level was doubling, not anymore

HCG level was doubling, not anymore

Hi -i'm pretty concerned about these numbers, could someone offer advice?

41 days from LMP: Hcg 12,000 (prog 30)
43 days from LMP: Hcg 26,000 (prog 20, started supplementing)
46 days from LMP: Hcg 37,000 (prog 28)

What does it mean that the HCG isnt doubling anymore? It looks like it would be about a 6-day doubling time now. I've got the typical nausea most of the day, no cramping or bleeding. Any info appreciated, i'm freaked out. thanks in advance.

I am no authority on this -- the highest level for me that I know of is 35 :)  However, I have heard ladies on here talk about the numbers leveling off at some point.  Maybe that is whta is happening to you.  I'm sure everything is fine.  Good luck with the rest of your preg.

It's pretty surprising they are even still measuring your hCG numbers when they are this high -- my fancy-pants fertility clinic that prides itself on its high medical standards stops when the baby begins showing up well on ultrasound.  (I think they stopped with me at about 2500.)  The numbers I've seen for normal doubling time on one of the medical charts are:

less than 1200   double in 48-72 hours
1200 to 6000     double in 72-96 hours
over 6000        double in over 96 hours

Once they get really, really high they actually level off and (if I'm not mistaken)either flatten or even decline.

i'm at 47 days from LMP now.. so about 4.5 weeks from ovulation. i was about to start IUIs when i appear to have gotten pregnant 'naturally' so this is through my OB, not an RE. the OB wont do an ultrasound till end of next week.

Your hcg levels should slow down the higher they get, so don't rely on hcg at this point to tell you how things are going. I agree that it is odd that your Dr. is still monitoring it. The ultrasound will set your mind at ease.
