HELP ASAP...

Ok my husband is going to get me a HPT tomorrow after he gets off of work. Well just keep in mind I'm on the depo shot, this morning I went to the bathroom and when I wiped there was a brown dishcharge do you get brown discharge on the depo shot am I worring over nothing my lower abdomen is even starting to hurt a bit whats going on I hope on the depo shot you get this discharge its the same discharge I had when I was pregnant with seth ok I'll stop rembling please Help....

Breakthrough bleeding is very common on the Depo shot.  In fact, when I had it about 8 years ago, I bled continually.  The doctor ended up putting me on birth control pills on top of the shot to control the bleeding.  I wouldn't worry about the bleeding...it most likely does not mean you're pregnant.  It is a common side effect.

If it is brown, then most likely it is "old" blood. As mentioned in the previous post, spotting is very common on the shot. Another note, if used correctly (shot given every 12 weeks on time) depo is 99% effective in preventing pregnancy. Chances are you are worried over nothing. Didn't your doctor explain all of this stuff to you when you started the shot?

I was on the shot in the past, and I didnt stay on it long I only had 2 shots, i decided to not stay on because I bled for 6 months on it, and i couldnt hack bleeding ALLLLL the time....My stepsis on the other hand didnt bleed at all...good luck! Jana

I didnt even spot, it was like a regular what most people call a normal period, and for the time of month it was supposed to be my period it was much heavier as thats how my normal one is...I hated depo, not only did i bleed the whole time I had HORRIBLE headaches...Jana

Do you have the option to see another doctor? I would even suggest finding a planned parenthood or something similar as they will be more than happy to explain everything to you. I was on depo from 96-99 and then again throughout 2002 after having my son. Both times I was lucky enough to stop getting visits from AF altogether. But i have known many women who have gone to the other extreme and couldn't seem to stop spotting. You obviously have access to the internet, so go to a good search engine like google.com and type in "depo provera" and start reading. You will find some very helpful information.

i too was on the depo and had brown bleeding i just went off the shot now i use nothing my monthly is back to normal i also had talked to my doctor and even called the hospital but they weren't worried and told me it was normal but i had been on the shot before and not had this problem twice before so nomore shots for me. thanks for listening
