Heart burn

Heart burn

Hi everybody,
I am 18 weeks pregnant. Last mid night I had some pain near my chest. I couldn't breath. I drunk lot of water.I was walking 10 min. Still pain was there.  When i lied down, the pain was increased, especially lied down on sides.
Suddenly i went to hospital. They did ultrasound and said that baby is ok. After doctor came and diagnosed me. He said that it might be a heart burn. He prescriped some medicine. If it won't well till 2 weeks, he told me that any problem in my heart. Anybody experience like that. Any prevention for heart burn. Please let me know.
Thank you.

The only thing that helps to improve my heartburn is MILK.  It works for me, but not sure for others.

I have not taken tums for my entire preg. except last week when I had it really bad......I took two and it helped a lot...but probably since I have not touched any meds at all....

I'm 19 wk.

I had heart burn so bad I couldn't breathe or talk.  I took the meds.  My ds was born very healthy.

This time I vomit, very little heart burn, but I have found sitting up for at least one hour after eating helps, milk helps, maalox liquid helps as well.
