I'm sorry hon, I don't really have any answers for you.  Perhaps these are some really good questions to ask your son's doctors.  Ask them what his prognosis is, do they expect him to live past a certain age?  What his development challenges would be?  What physical therapy and special needs does he require?  I send you big hugs for you and your boy.  I hope you are given the strength to get through this.  I will send prayers your way.

I wish I could help too but I don't think I can answer your questions either.
My son had fluid on his brain as an infant because of a brain bleed, he was diagnosed with hydrocephalus and had a surgery to put in a shunt which is a device that drains the fluid, he did suffer some brain damage and now has some special needs but every case is different, some I know with the same diagnosis as my son have come off better than he has, others not so and have more complications than my son has.
I am not sure that hydrocephalus is what your son has though; it sounds like it could be more complicated. You sound very concerned for your son and it's not always easy to remember all the things you want to ask when you get to see the doctor so I would suggest you start writing your questions down so next time you see your son's doctor you will know what questions you wanted answering.
Best wishes.
