How long did it take to lose baby weight

Ok, I gained 51 pounds and Ryan will be 6weeks old on Tuesday and I have lost 27 pounds so far.  My weight loss was fast at first, but I seem to be averaging a weight loss of 2 pounds per week.  How long did it take for you ladies to loss the weight?  I am running and eating right.  I have no clothes and don't want to buy to much because I know I will get back to my pre-pregancy weight.  I have my jelly belly!!

i'm glad you asked this. i was thinking of asking a similar question, although i am concerned about the opposite.
i had my c-sec 13 days ago. when i left the hospital i had lost about 12 pounds. since then (8 days later) my total weight loss has been 24 pounds (12 pounds in 8 days). in fact, i am getting concerned that i am losing weight too quickly, especially i have been having some stomach problems and really don't have much of an appetite. A lot of it was fluid (i had retained a LOT due to high blood pressure and preeclampsia,), but the swelling went down a while ago and i continue to lose at least a pound/day.  i am pumping, and i know that increases weight loss, but i want to make sure that i'm not losing too quickly to provide my baby with the neccesary nutrients.

to answer your question, i am 8 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight. i had put on about 32lbs. but, keep in mind that i delivered a month early, so i missed out on a long period of weight gain.

It depends on whether or not you are breastfeeding, and how active you are. Kris123, it sounds like you are doing everything right. I know all the research I have read on weight loss says if you loose more than 2 lbs per week, it's more likely to come back to you. 1/2 to 2 lbs is the safe range for weight loss. This info doesn't take into consideration childbirth, but I can't imagiine it would be more different. Hope this helps!

i am working on mine, my baby is 13weeks. and i went from 144all the way up to 197.i am now 155 i lost 30 of it very fast. like in two weeks after my baby was born.  and still working on it. the thing was i was on my way of losing weight before i got pregnant. i went from 165 to 144 in 9 months then TADA i was pregnant. so i still would like to get down to 135, so i am on my was. just keeping my eye on what i eat and work out everynight. for about 30-60 mins a night.

Sounds like we are in the same boat.  I was 137 then went to 190.  I lost 18 fast but still have yet to lose 30.

it took me about 3 months to lose the 34 lbs I gain with my last child born in March, but still working on losing the weight I gained with my other two 7 and 10 years ago.  I breast feed with all mine, but found the biggest problem to be when I went back to work, everyone is so focused on what you are eating for lunch etc at work.  This is where I gain the most weight and have the hardest time saying no.

I gained 25 lbs during the pregnancy and lost it all in two weeks.  When I stopped breastfeeding, now that's a different story.  I started gaining weight, FAST!

Did anyone come home from the hospital weighing the same as when they went in?  I gained 35 pounds and was looking forward to losing ATLEAST how much the baby weighed but ended in an emergency c-section.  Now, I am more bloated and miserable than when I was pregnant.  I have an awesome pregnancy with a healthy weight gain and no bloating.  The doctor said I didn't lose as much blood as I should have in the delivery process but the bloat will go away.  WHEN??? This is so hard feeling worse now.

i wasin 185 b4 delivery and when i came home from hospital i was around 178 and in 4 weeks i went 223 lbs and looked like i wasnt going to stop gaining weight and started depressed very sad . and i was so bloated all the time and had fluids came out until 4 months funnyy and after 3 months of depression i pushed myself to the edge kept drinking 5 litres of water and took all the toxic out of my body and started a 15-30 min workout 5 days a week now 2 month i lost 22 lbs ..the irony is drink a lot of water to get rid of all the uncessaary liquid u are retaining ...so you will see the difference..no bloating at least u will feel fresh and energetic ..honey start right now and aim for the h2o ,workout and so on

Weight loss, for every woman, is going to vary greatly because all of our bodies respond differently to pregnancy & weight gain.
With my first son I gained 80lbs and lost all of it by the time he was 8 months old. I just gave birth to my second son on the 9th, and having gained only 25 lbs I am already back in my pre- pregnancy clothing. I am working out for 90 minutes a day, breast feeding and watching my diet.
