I had my doctors appointment today...

I had my biopsy of my cervix today, it really wasn't bad.  I don't feel anything during the procedure and I now I just have to wait for the results.  The doctor said that "it doesn't look like anything to get TOO worried about", what is that supposed to mean?  Someone mentioned yesterday that they had pre cancer cells, what did they do to take care of that?

Hey...haven't read your earlier posts...but something like this happened to me.  My pap came back abnormal - and I had to get a colposcopy - is that what you had done today?  My doctor told me it didn't look like anything either at the time...and it ended up coming back negative for pre cancer cells.  He did say that if they found precancer cells there were several ways to treat them depending on the amount of them - i think he talked about freezing them, and also about surgically removing them.  Don't worry about that though until you have to...your doctor said not to worry...so i would trust him for now!  good luck to you...

Cervix cancer takes years to develop, means, you will not get cancer over night, days, weeks, or even months. Did they test you for HPV? I had abnormal pap result, so I had colposcopy, they wash tha cervix with vinegar, then the abnormal cells trun white and they take a swap of it and send it to the lab. Mine wasn't bad(very mild LISL). I had 3 more paps since then(every 3 mns) and the results came back normal, HPV cleared on it's own. Don't worry(easy to say!!) you all will be ok. Keep us posted.

My cousin just found out she has stage 2 cervical cancer and is 20 and had a normal pap about 11-12 months ago when she was pregnant with her daughter.  So she didn't have it while she was pregnant.  Im just really worried!

I was the one with precancerous cells. They froze them off. It was a simple procedure that didn't even hurt.
