Hi,

Based on feedback received by our Pregnancy 35+ community, we're please to announce that we've created a Maternal & Child 35+ Community. This community will be for mothers ages 35 & over who have a newborn. The community is located at: http://www.medhelp.org/forums/show/249. Please keep the feedback coming!

Well darn.... why did they do that?  I liked having all of us in one forum.  =(

Seems like there are too many forums to keep up with!  The problem is, when you keep adding forums, you get less answers to posts... I don't have time to check every forum, so I stick with this one and the infertility one... Soon enough, there won't be hardly any answers because people won't know where to look - it will take about an hour just to cruise through all the forums!

Hi,

We actually did it based on the feedback we received from a lot of members in the forum when we asked about the monthly Baby communities. This wasn't even something we'd considered until it was suggested. We'll keep an eye on it and see how it goes, but clearly, we're leaving this community alone as well.

I'm with the others--there are way, way to many forums now.

I just flat out get confused where I may have seen a particular post (I forget to watch them sometimes).

I just stick around here for the most part.

As it stands I have to rely on pm's or emails from members to find posts or members who could benefit from my advice and vice versa because we are all spread out so far.

I love the breastfeeding community, but many people stick with their "home' forum, so now I find I am bouncing back and forth between the two or again, relying on someone to bring it to my attention if I missed it.

and now there are pg forums for the month you are due!! that one is rediculous, its nice to talk to all women that are in pg or have been pg not just where you are.  i dont even visit half of the forums i used to, way too much.  maybe we should have a griping forum haha.  maybe that is under womens social lol

I agree w/ pertykitty.

Suggestion:  Rather than creating a separate forum for the month a pregnant women is due, why not create separate "stickies" in one or two forums (e.g. the pregnancy under 34 and above 24 forums)???  That way, the member can look at misc. posts within the forum but can also toggle between their expectant month "thread" quite easily.  As others have mentioned, having too many forums often means many questions go unseen and this will prevent this from happening to some extent.

Hey, I have a suggestion... put the number of posts a member has - that may help weed out some of the freaks...

And the thing about the Pregnancy month forums - that is sooooooo overboard...

MedHelp is going to go from helpful to useless if controls aren't put into place... Members will leave because they can't get answers to questions, because people don't know where to go or don't have the time to go to several forums... Has MedHelp ever tracked forums to see the usage - like, maybe if there aren't many responses to questions, then that forum should be nixed?!?!

WoooHooo - I don't know if this is something new, but I just noticed that if you hover over someone's member name it shows "Member since..." and the date - LOVE IT!!!

I don't think we need to be age seperated we all can bring something to the discussion.
