I'd make a request to your doc to have HCG levels taken.  If HCG levels are doubling every 48hrs, then that's a good sign your pregnancy is going well.

I wish you the best and pray everything turns out okay.

HI,

How are you? I'm good.  I sort of feel like i may be in the same boat lol.  I haven't had my period in two months eaither. But all my hpt have come back neg (first response) have all the symptoms but the doc atthe clinic said to keep to test again next fri and if nothing go in andget checked. Do you think it ay be first response? I get so confused. I mean im feeling sick now all the time, tired, breast tenderness anda fewothe symptoms.  I just feel so weird and i worry whatif i am pregnant? i should be taking viatmins and stuff =)

I hope everything goes okay for you! keeps us updated!!

Hi there and welcome. I was wondering if your doctor told you that you are 2 and a half months pregnant. If you are, your test should certainly be +. HCG gives you a + and is present as soon as you conceive, it should double every 36-48 hours in a healthy pregnancy. So, about two weeks after you conceive you normally get a + if you are. However, there have been cases where women are pregnant and don't get a + for 2 months later, this I don't understand. Is your doctor going to give you a blood test or u/s. At two months they would be able to see a pregnancy. Good luck and keep us posted. I find this very interesting. Have a happy healthy nine months.

Yeah, she said that she found out she WAS pregnant cuz she went in to doc and had a blood test done.  That is really weird too that she didn't get a positive result from a home pregnancy test.

But I have a question, if you know the answer.  When they do a "blood test" to test for pregnancy, does it also show HCG levels in it?  Cuz HCG is tested thru blood too, right? Or do they have to specify to test for that?

Well Stacey I wish you the best and keep us posted.

That's what I'm thinking.  If your doc did a blood test to determine pregnancy and said you're 2 1/2 months, then things should be fine cuz if the levels were low, he'd say something about it.

Anyways, CONGRATS! and take care.

Hey there! I believe that hgc levels are only picked up in the blood. That is how mine were done. A reg pregnancy test (urine) done by the doc does not give levels. It gives a + or - that's it. Speaking of which, I can't wait to get my levels back on Mon or Tues. I am going out of my mind wondering. This is so hard, it's way worse then the dreadful 2ww. Anyway, anymore questions, just let me know. Hope I helped.

well then I guess my levels are fine if my doc said from the blood test that I'm 2 and 1/2 months pregnant right so I might have nothing to worry about right now right. thank you all

A blood pregnancy test is done to determine if there is any hcg in your system. That is the hormone that is almost exclusive to pregnancy (pituitary tumors can cause hcg to show as well, much rarer than pg though)

So basically a blood serum pregnancy test is one that is looking for hcg : )

With both of my 2 healthy children now 5 and 3 neither home pregnancy tests determined they were both negative and my kids were just fine.

Doctors can either give you a quantitative or qualitative blood test to determine whether or not you are pregnant.  The qualitative blood test will show either postive or negative and the quantitative test will give you the break down on the HCG level in you system.

I would double check and as the doctor if he/she did give you a quantative blood test and he/she has your HCG level to ask him/her for it so that you can keep track of the levels.

I know that in my situation they always just did blood work to determine yes or no and I was never given HCG levels.

Good Luck,
Norma

I have also missed 2 periods. Did you have any pregnancy symptoms? I've taken three or four HPT's and all were neg. My doctor's appt is on Wed.
