I disagree with luvlydis, in that I think inhaling marijuana smoke from either end of the joint (i.e., either by smoking it or by breathing it) will put it into the mom's bloodstream. We get into big arguments on this site as to whether it is safe, but largely that is because one or two posters will post over and over again that they think it is safe and everyone else will argue with them. Majority of opinion and scientific opinon too is that it is not a good idea to expose an unborn baby to marijuana smoke, tobacco smoke, or frankly, most other smoke. Too many toxins. Tell her that, (if they live in a country where it is legal to smoke it), her husband should either quit or smoke outside, and if they live where it is not legal, he should just quit. The baby doesn't want a daddy in jail.
I think it insane for either one of them to smoke pot. Second had "pot" smoke is just as harmful as if the mother was smoking it. WHY would the husband endanger the baby? I'm amazed at anyone even asking this STUPID question. If you can't be a decent parent and give up your drug use, DON'T GET PREGNANT!
of course it's not safe for her or the baby to be around him when he smokes. ever have a "contact high" ??? i have gotten very high off of second hand marijuana smoke.
Second hand cigarette smoke is just as bad as smoking the cigarette yourself. Therefore, I would assume the same about marijuana. I know there is sooo much debate about whether marijuana is bad for you, but I'd rather be safe than sorry and stay away from it.
