My 16mo old has a fever at night, but not during the day??

For over a week now, my baby boy has had very high fevers at night time, but then he is perfectly fine the next morning.. They started at about 101, but last night it went up to 104.5! I have been taking him to the Dr. and have had blood and urine samples taken, which both turn out to be normal. He doesnt ACT sick during the day OR night, and he has NO other symptoms. The Dr. tells me that he thinks its a virus or maybe Roseola, but it has been happening now for well over 3 days. Has anybody else had this experience?

Yea, my girls get these viruses from time to time. Seems to be the main way they get sick. I know the docs say that teething doesn't cause fevers that high, but I notice a correlation. But in general, when my little ones get viruses, they are fine all day, but spike at night. We just watch for the spike, give a cool bath, some motrin, and bed. Follow up with the ped in a few days if the fever persists or if other symptoms develop. My ped generally says to go back if the fever persists more than 5 days. My ped will also usually do a quick finger stick blood count to make sure it's viral and not bacterial. Then we avoid unnecessary antibiotics.

I am hoping you are right. He seems absolutely fine, still eating and drinking ( drinks a LOT of water) he is constantly thirsty.
