Okay, Jacob is 8 months and his clothes size 6-9m are fitting him for now, but I know I need to start stocking up on the next size. Right now, he wears 100% cotton onies and 100% cotton pants. I like very soft clothes for his soft skin. I noticed at the stores, all this type of clothes seem to stop at 6-9m. There are usually a couple of 9-12m onies but that is it. The rest is all collar type shirts (not very soft) or T-shirts with nascar stuff on it and the pants are bulky jeans or thick khaki denim with wide elastic waist bands in the back. What does a baby need blue jeans for?? He can't even walk yet???
Anybody else have this dilemma, or I am the only one opposed to putting babies in blue jeans? Not to mention how few choices there are for boys clothes anyway. Anybody have any suggestions on where to shop for "soft" boy clothes in size 9-12m?
hi hannah, I am not sure of what stores you have down there, but some of the good stores up this way for baby stuff, is macy's..baby gap.. the childrensChildrens chewable multivitamins Childrens ibuprofen berry Childrens nyquil Childrens tylenol Childrens tylenol meltaway place.. talbot kids, these are expensive stores however alot of times they have good sales, for example, last night I was at macy's they had beautiful soft one piece outfits they were 29.99 but 50 % off, I have a hard time spending ALOT of money on clothes as they outgrow them so fast, but I agree with you that I also want soft clothes on my babies, I found really nice things at babiesrus as well, all of these places have web sites so you can go and check them out, hope this helps
Thanks Luci. That is helpful. I did get a couple of 12m onesies from gap but didn't find any pants. I'll try the other to and looking on the net is a great idea. I hadn't thought of that.
Oh yeah, another dilemma is the one piece sleepers with the feet in them. Most of them stop at 6-9m also!!
I recently bought one sleepers w/feet from children's place. They go all the way up to 4T and it's only $25 for 3. Also try gymboree real soft cotton baby clothes. I put Reilly in cotton clothes too and love gymboree and old navy.
try gap and old navy.com. they have a larger selection than in the stores. footed sleepers that go up to 5 years! and alot of times have free shipping if you spend over a certain amount.
Kohls has the Jumping Beans line. Most are soft cotton (for girls at least- boys clothes i think are similar). Most shirts are onesie type. And the best part is- it's affordable. on sale this week, each piece of clothing is $4.50.
I also use children's place, and i think Old Navy has comfy stuff too.
We shop children's place, cartersCarters little pills, and gap for comfy clothes. I bought dd a bunch of really cute dress up clothes before she was born, but now she only wears comfy clothes and she is 15 months. Cotten onsies or shirts with cotton pants most days. Dresses only for special occasions. I also love the one piece cotton or fleece outfits by cartersCarters little pills, that is what I would want to wear if i were a baby :)
How funny, I put my ds in jeans when he was only 6 weeks old. They have really nice ones from Gap that are cotton lined and superSuper aytinal 50 plus Super aytinal for active adults Super b complex Super b complex with c Super b-50 Super calcium Super high vitamins and minerals Super plenamins soft. They even have a cute fade to them...I actually have bought all sizes for him so far. They are $20 but the only jeans I stick on him. They also have nice onesies too, ususally you can find the seasonal ones one sale. I have gotten some for $3.00! They have really good sales all the time.
For sleepers I went to Target and got a bunch of 12month fleece onepiece zipper sleepers. I think they go up to grown men sizes, LOL...no really, I think they do! But I got a bunch for the winter months. They were $15 for two, kinda pricey in my opinion for PJ's, but I couldnt find his size at any other store.
Baby gap has blue jeans that are lined on the inside with a sweatshirt like material. I bought those for my DS when he was younger because they are soooo much softer than standard jeans.
Baby gap, children's' place and Old Navy always have really cute boy clothes, sometimes I find cute stuff at Target but I prefer the previously listed stores.
I just got my son a couple of one-piece, long-legged striped outfits in 24-month size at Babies R Us. They have a polo type collar and three-button placket, but are closer to the kind of outfit made for younger kids. I love them for around the house at the very least, and he looks presentable in them in public too. He also is very comfortable in corduroy overalls, over a onesie. Corduroy is much less stiff than denim and poplin in baby clothes.
I just bought a bunch of 90% cotton 10% spandex sweat pants and shirts at Target for $3.33 each. They had 9 - 18 months. They are nothing special, but they had good color choices for girls and boys. Put a short sleeved onsie to keep out the drafts, and they are perfect for crawling around the house.
Yes, some people like to dress their kids up in clothes that they would wear. My dd was hardly ever in blue jeans and if she was it was just for a picture. They always fall down. Shop at Carters - they have a good selection and even their jeans are made to fit babys. They also seel onsies up to 24 months.
Sorry I left out Carters-I love Carters also!! They do make onesies up to 24 months which is great because my daughter weighs 28 lbs and they still fit her.
Thanks everyone. This is all really good advice. I'm gonna have to check these places out. We don't have a carters here but I have bought a lot of their brand if it is the same thing. I'll check them out on line. I remember children's place from when I was a kid, but I don't think we have them here. I'll check to look into it.
I haven't had much luck at baby gap. Their sizes are 6-12m. Since jacob is 8m, I've resisted buying from them. I'm okay with buying 9-12m but for some reason I can't believe the 6-12m would fit him for that long.
I've been getting most of his stuff from target but their baby clothes stop at 6-9m. After that it all turns into little boy clothes. Same with their sleepers. I did see the fleeces ones but thought those would be too hot.
I think looking on line is going to be the best way to go. Thanks everyone!!
