My son poops 10 times a day!!!!

My son poops 10 times a day!!!!

My son Dalton is 14 months old and has been on whole milk since he was about 10 months old. The reason we started him whole milk so young is becuase we would give him small amounts at meal time and he loved it. We seen no ill effects from it and after awhile he refused his formla, so he started him on whole milk. My problem now is that he poops sooooo much! Im begining to wonder if he has an intolerance to milk. I was going to try soy for a week and see if it slows down but he wont drink it. Honestly I dont blame him, its gross. I have tried plain, vanilla, and regular soy, and he refuses all of it. My question is do you think I should try lactoes free milk first???He is such a picky eater I would hate to cut out milk if that wasnt the problem, he is like my ther kids and would rather drink milk (or anything eles) besides eat. Im so frustrated!  just started polyvisol to up his vitimin intake. Any ideas???
Thank you in advance:-)

I would say even if he was ok at first he may have built up a lactose intolerance. Is his poop mucus looking? As this is a sign of lack of digestion of lactose. It is not good for his digestive system to contiue this way. Try lactose free milk or there is somthing they can give to babies who have a problem with the lactose in breast milk but my understanding is it is expensive and him being older he may need more. Try lactose free first and if it seems to work go and see the pead and have him tested. Good Luck

thank you fo your response. No I don think his poop looks mucusy. It is just alot in one day! His poor butt is always rashed. We go through a tube of desitine every few days. I should buy stock, lol. I also didnt know they could test for intolerance. My 3 month old DD has been tested for allergies to milk and soy products but the told me if it was an intolerance than the hypoallergtic stuff would have worked so it was just ruled out. Anywho, thats a whole other story, lol. I will try lactose free first since he wont even drink the soy. I know its just going to take some time. I just need to cut out the milk to see if thats whats causing it. Thanks again. Happy Thanksgiving:-)

both of my guys (they're 15 month old twins) poop at least 4-5 times a day a piece (we keep pampers in business..and whoever makes a&d ointment....lol) let me tell you...it's not a cute, little toddler poo either. these are massive man poos. it's SO smelly, SO much and just SO SO gross!!!! they started drinking whole milk at 12 months which is when the poo changed and they started going so much.

I had a problem when my daughters body couldn't process the sugar from certain foods and other things in milk. When soy milk didn't work bc she wouldn't drink it, we started on rice milk and that tasted good and she liked it!
