Normal HCG levels at 5 wks pregnant

Hello.  I just found out I'm pregnant after 2 miscarriages in 2008. I had labs done yesterday and got my results this morning. I'm trying to understand the meaning of my HCG level. Doc confirmed I'm 5 wks as of yesterday but my HCG level is 5151.6.  Is this normal?? I thought it was high, but I know nothing about what's normal at this stage.  Please help!  Thanks!

Those numbers are completely normal.  When I was 5 weeks and 3 days my number was 7000.  Its not so much the number itself that counts though as long as it is doubling like it should.  i have included the chart for normal ranges of HCG, courtesy of the american pregnancy association website.  Good luck!

25 - 40 weeks LMP: 3,640 - 117,000 mIU/ml
Non-pregnant females: <5.0 mIU/ml
Postmenopausal females: <9.5 mIU/ml

I would say that is on the high end, but still normal.
