I saw a post on painting while you are pregnant, however I can not find it now. How do you guys feel about painting while being pregnant. I asked the DR and he said it was okay as long as I wore a mask and made sure the room was well ventilated, however other people I have talked to do not think it is such a good idea....I am confused.
honey, it's painting, not working in a meth lab. womenWomen's way used to work 4 times as hard as we do today, open the windows wear a mask, and paint away.god bless
I just painted my babys room and I am 28 weeks. I kept a fan on and wore the mask. I can tell you that bending over to do the baseboard was not fun. I painted the room to save a couple of hundred dollars but wished I had someone else to do it. Hubby is not patient and is messy so I did it myself. Did an okay job, but did not enjoy doing it.
Just my input--if I were you, I would do it as early on as possible. Don't wait until you are big and uncomfortable.
We also painted and when my mom was pg with me they swore I would come out with a paintbrush in my handHand or foot spasms Hand tremor. Just make sure it is well ventilated. Have fun.
I would actually wait until you're well into your 2nd or 3rd trimester to paint because the further along into your pregnancy your are, the more developed is your baby. It may be tougher on you physically but I think the less exposure to anything that may be proven harmful on your developing fetus is best. And obviously, as the other girls have advised, make sure the room is very well ventilated and wear a mask.
I painted early in my last pregnancy and it ended in m/c I am sure it had nothing to do with it but I would be careful if you are going to do it especially if you are going to be standing on ladder or chair as obviously the bigger we get the less balance we seem to have.
