Please Help..So worried, woke up this morning and was spotting brown (tmi sorry)

by kierstynsmommy, Nov 04, 2006 12:00AM
OK...I woke up this morning and wiped after I peed(sorry) and it was brown. I kept wiping for sometime and it continued to be brown for a few wipes. I finally got it all off and have been checking all day long and it is not there anymore.  I called the dr. and he says not to worry unless I have cramping accomodated with bleeding and clots.  I seen the baby a few weeks ago, I am almost 9 weeks now.  What could this mean? Like I said, It has gone away since this morning but how can I not worry? Can anyone tell me what they think might be happening? Is a miscarriage likely going to happen? Or is this ok? I am out of town this week and could go to the ER if it persists, but its stopped for now. Any info will be must appreciated...thanks in advance ladies.

I remember reading in one of my baby books that they warn you that you'll probably spot between 8-10 weeks for whatever unknown reason. I did w/my 1st child, again w/ my 2nd, and yet again w/ this current one...all w/in that time frame. Mine was pinkish that turned to brown. As long as your not cramping, you should be fine, but do take note of it. If you start cramping or turns any shade of red, go to the ER just in case.

I spotted at 12 weeks and it was b/c my husband and I had sex 2 days before, we have since decided no more sex until he gets here, we lost a baby at 20 weeks so we are just overly cautious, sex if perfectly fine during pregnancy

God bless and Good luck

When i had my m/c I wiped brown blood everyday for 2 weeks straight followed by red heavier bleeding. The whole time my cramps were mild. I'm sure that you've heard that bleeding is very common in pregnancies. If this bleeding persists for more than 3 days, call your doctor and get an ultra sound done. You don't want to waist any time. Plus if everything is fine, you'll have the piece of mind. I wish I went to the hospital right away.
I am 5w6d pregnant.  I know that as soon as I see any blood, I'm going to call right away and get an U/S.
I've heard that if the bleeding is only for one or two days, it is probably nothing to worry about.

thanks ladies. I am just so overly worried. If yall know my stories, then you know what I have been through.  I just had a D&C in august and got pregnant in sept, so I am really trying to hope for the best. i guess I just got to tell myself that at least I know that there is a baby in there this time and just to pray for the best. It is so hard to wait though. i am going to try to get an u/s as soon as I get back home. No, let me rephrase that! I WILL get an u/s as soon as I get home. I know that the doctors and secretaries all talk bad about me because I am always calling and asking questions but ya know what...that is what they get paid for! HA

I had spotting at 6 weeks with pain, thought for sure I was miscarrying, but I'm still pregnant.  I had miscarried previously at 10 weeks after spotting at 8 weeks and it was the same thing this time, but I guess sometimes you miscarry and sometimes you don't.  A few nights ago, at 19 weeks I had to be rushed to the hospital for heavy bleeding.  It started as just a brownish spot after I went pee, then when I came out of the bathroom to show my husband and get new underwear I just started bleeding a whole bunch covering my pants, underwear and some of the floor.  When I was checked out at the hosptial they did an u/s and an internal exam, baby looked good and I was not dilating.  They since sent me home and I have to go back for a follow up on Tuesday.  They do not know what caused the blood, but ever since I've had brown old bleeding/spotting.  I can't wait to go to the doctors and find out what's going on and make sure we're still okay.  I know baby Zach is still bouncing around in there so he must be doing pretty good.

My mom spotted with both of my sisters and myself, and my sister spotted with all three of her children. I agree with the other ladies, if it persists, definitely call the dr. It sounds like it was just a small amount one time only, so you should be good. But, I would definitely call if you notice anything again. Best wishes!

I say good luck girl... I'm probably in the middle of a m/c... I just started with red bleeding after 5days brown, scant blood.  So today was my "official" day of red blood.  My HCG was 198 Wednesday and awaiting my results of yesterday's test to be told to me on Monday.  I have a feeling that I'm m/c... but sounds like you just may be ok as long as you see that kiddo of yours on the u/s.  Keep us informed!

I'm also 9 weeks and the same thing happened to me late Friday night.  I had light pink spotting.  Then yesterday I was kind of crampy off and on but no more spotting.  Now today I feel like a new person--no cramps or spotting. I figured maybe it was from sex or that I just pushed myself more than I should have at work Fri.  Take Care.

I had 2 mc, one at 7 wks, other at 10 wks.  the last one was tough in that there was a heartbeat at the U/S and the baby was measuring 6wks in size.  I spotted at 8 weeks, brown, then pink, with cramps, and I was like that for the following 2 weeks until i miscarried.  all 3 ultrasounds showed a heartbeat, but fetus wasnt growing.  I sort of knew i was doomed not to have this one.  I want to tell you its okay, but I think your doc should do vaginal u/s and see baby size and heartbeat count and that will tell you for sure what is going on.
God Bless and I will pray for you.

Hey girl, I had brown spotting for like a day and a half a couple of weeks ago.  It was actually like a brown discharge...weird.  I was sooo scared it was going to continue and then get worse like what happened w my miscarriage in August.  However, it completley stopped and hasn't come back since then.  Everything still seems to be going well.  I think and hope everything is fine w both of us!  If the spotting gets worse and cramps come along w it, you should def go to the ER.  Good luck!!  You're in my prayers!  :-)

One word of caution, if you are rh- make sure you tell your health practioner at the first hint of bleeding as you may need rhogam.
