Please help me with asthma

Hello my name is Jose im from Mexico living in Cancun. Im sorry for my english hehe/. My wife is pregnant she have right now almost 36 weeks of pregnancy, for more than a week she have a terrible mix of dry and phlegm cough, her gynecologist gave her last week a threatment of penicillin she took that threathment for 3 days, then when the cough get worse we went to an allergist doctor because we remember last year she got a terrible bronchitis with a cough and that doctor after 3 different opinions was the only one that gave her a good threatment now when we saw him again he dyagnose this time all the cough is an asthma crysis, now my question.
Shes getting better now but still having at least 1 or 2 terrbile cough crysis per day, shes taking prednisone + ventolin, anyone know if the cough affects the baby and aprox how many days can this cough take too dissappear.

Coughing will not affect the baby.  Medications can, but obviously the doctor will not prescribe meds that are dangerous to a fetus when they can so clearly see your wife is pregnant.  Trust the good doctor who helped you before.  Did he recommend anything else that is not the medication, such as resting, staying indoors, breathing moisture, or anything like that?  If so, she should do it all.  Also she should try to get some extra rest.  All the best to you both.
