Progesterone suppositories

by baxtersmum, Apr 09, 2006 12:00AM
I am ttc.  Following 2 m/c, my doctor has prescribed 200mg progesterone suppositories 2/day.  I start them 5 days post ovulation.  Here is my question: I always know when my period will start because I chart my waking temperatures and the big drop will tell me i will start that day. I think progesterone elevates temperatures.  So,I am wondering if the progesterone suppositories will give me false high temps.
does anyone know??

not sure about temps, but does that affect anything?
i was also on prog supps, but i started the day after ttc was 'done'.  gad to keep taking till 2 weeks later to see if PG, then when i finally was PG, (took a few months) continued on the supps for 12 weeks.   good luck.

I just finished my first attempt of IVF.  After the blood test, I stopped taking, by injection, Progesterone oil and went to progesterone suppositories 2x a day til first ulrasound.  That will be 4/13 and I'm 7wk this week.  I'm not really sure how it affects body temp.  The nurse told me its to create a healthy envirnonment.  This makes the fertilized egg easier to grow.

Hope this helps some.
