Question about Pregnancy/Birth Control

by Lovelif2, Oct 17, 2006 12:00AM
I just stopped taking my birth control pills mid September. My Normal period isnt suppose to start until Oct. 25 My period stated Oct. 9 and lasted almost 7-days. My fiance and I are trying but this has never happened before. Could I be pregnant? Would my period come on normal schedule by next week? Can you let me know or should I take a test? Thanks

I guess anything is possible, I know it did not take me long at all to get back on a normal scedule after I stopped the pill.
You know your body best...tests are cheap at the $ store can't hurt to try one!
Good luck :)

I don't believe you could be pregnant if you had your period on 10/9...for 7 days that means you bled until 10/15?

I stopped taking my pill 11/14 of 2003 and never got my period at all...conceived on 11/21 of 2003..7 days after I stopped taking my pill

It's common to bleed and get your period a week or so after the pill stops

More than likely your body is trying to find its schedule ... your regularity was forced because of the pill, so your body needs to figure out its schedule. It may take six months or more before you have a regular schedule (frequency, length of cycle, etc.), but it sounds to me like the October period was normal. Also, even if your body doesn't automatically start a regular schedule, you can still conceive. This just requires a higher amount of attention to determine ovulation. You should ovulate 12-16 days BEFORE your next af starts. You may want to start taking ovulation tests 10/21 and continue until you get a pos (two DARK lines). The best time to detect the surge apparently is 11am-3pm and 5pm-10pm each day, but make sure you take the test at the SAME TIME daily if this is the route you choose to determine ovulation.

Once, I didn't have my period until 49 days later.  It depends.  If you have very regular period, you can try the test.  If you know your ovulation date for sure, you can try the test too.  Otherwise I would wait a few days.

My last bc pill was in August. I finished a pack, had af for that cycle and am currently 32 days late with BFN. I know that I am not pg. My body just hasn't found its cycle off bc pills.
