I am having ThalassemiaThalassemia Thalassemia major Thalassemia minor Minor and my husband is having hepatitis b,I want to know what will happen to my future child, if i have one. Will he/she suffer from any of these disease?Or what must i worry most.Because many people says that my child will suffer or will be abnormal.Pls advise me.Thanks.
What "many people" say is not the issue, you need a doctor to refer you for genetic counseling and screening. You need a trained medical geneticist, not well-meaning friends, to tell you things like how ThalassemiaThalassemia Thalassemia major Thalassemia minor minor passes down, (i.e., if both parents have to have the defective gene for the child to get it, or if one parent is enough), you probably have to be sure your husband is not a carrier, you would want to know if the child could be a carrier even if not manifesting with the condition, etc., etc. and these are very medically technical questions that other people are not qualified to answer. As far as the hep B, though there is a vaccineChickenpox - vaccine Dtap immunization (vaccine) Hepatitis a - vaccine Hepatitis a immunization (vaccine) Hepatitis b vaccine Hib - vaccine Hib immunization (vaccine) Influenza vaccine Influenza vaccines Mmr - vaccine Nasal spray flu vaccine for it, again you want to find out from a doctor (not from your friends), can the baby get it from the dad before such a point as the baby could get vaccinated? Only someone trained in screening and advising people with pre-existing conditions will be able to give you useful answers. Good luck!
