O.k. ladies......help needed. From Dec. to Jan. I had a 28 day cycle. From Jan. to Feb. I had a 25 day cycle. So right now I am on cd 11. Shouldn't I be seeing signs of LHLh blood test Lh urine test (home test) surge from an OPK??? Since my cycles are short I wouldn't think that I would O later??? Confused.......please help! LMP was on 01/24. Hope everyone is doing well this morning!
Was your LMP on 1/24 or 2/24? If it was 2/24, you should be ovulating this weekend. Have you tried an ovualtion kit? Here is a website that helped me and might also help you pinpoint your ovulation.

Just FYI...I used an opk in July and never got a positive reading on it. However, I am almost 35 weeks pg, so we conceived in July. Just bd every other day from now until it is time for AF. That is just my suggestion (and what I did). Good Luck!!

Moring. Just wanted you to know that OPK's do not work for everyone. I used them for 2months and I would check from cd10-cd25 and I never had a positive however I temps would raising (indicating that I have ovulated). I also know a few others that this has happend to. So, use the OPK's but still have intercourseCauses of painful intercourse Sexual intercourse - painful every other day from cd10-cd20. Good luck to you.
Kristen........FYI sperm can live up to 6 days and an egg can live 24-48 hrs. I think you should be fine. I guess from your experience and others, I shouldn't worry about not getting a positive on my OPK. What I don't understand is a 28 day cycle and a 25 day cycle, when would I ovulate???
I've heard you usually ovulate 14 days before your period starts. Most people make the mistake thinking they ovulate on CD14, but that is only if you have a 28 day cycle. For a 25 day cycle you would ovulate on CD 11, you are right, the OPK should pick it up. I've read that the best way to detect a surge is to test 2 times a day, but I haven't been doing that because those buggers are expensive. Apparently the surge lasts about 11 hours. Also you are not supposed to test unless you've been holding your urine for 4 hours. And....not supposed to test 1st thing in the morning, because you can have a surge first thing in the morning but it takes several hours for the LH surge to get from you blood to your urine. So, with all these variables, no wonder they don't always work so great. I wish I was one of those people the OPK worked like I charm, I would love to know when I ovulate. It's all a big mystery for me. If I turn up pregnant, it will truely be a total surprise. Good luck to you Emma! Let me know how thing go!
With 25-28 cycle, you should ovulate anywhere btwn cd10-15. Best way to figure ovulation is to predict next AF and count back 14-16 days...that's when approx. ovulation will occur.
My rule of thumb is to just BD Cd10-20 at the very least.
