Spitting up Baby

by Renogirl, Nov 08, 2008 05:15PM
So just a question for all you ladies - when Abby was little, she would spit up frequently - we changed her formula and she did wonderful, still a little spit up but nothing major - she went for the longest time with very little spitting up - now at eight months - she's back to spitting up again - just curious if anyone else went through the same thing with their little ones - I'm also wondering if it's just because she is so mobile and on her tummy so much - she still hasn't gotten up on her knees, but she drags herself everywhere military style - flat on her tummy!!!

addison seemed to go through that when she started eating more foods.  in fact she has been spitting up more and she is turning a year on the 13th.   im sure its not a problem unless she is in pain or really throwing up, but your ped would be better off talking to about that.

Hey Reno!! - No's been spitting up quite a lot lately.  He was doing quite well w/the spitting up stuff and now it's gotten to be a little more in quantity than usual.  He always spits up more when he's been on his tummy or active after just eating so perhaps it is the tummy action but I'm planning on asking the dr Monday about it.

Oh I thought I'd add that he had his 6 month check up on the 4th.  Daddy had to take himn as Mommy was on her back on the couch w/severe tummy cramps and of course he forgot to ask the questions I wrote down for him so now I gotta call up doc myself and get some answers!

lol - gotta love those daddies who try but never get it right - so when are you bringing Noah to Reno for a playdate?

My middle one has GERD. My big clue was that he continued to spit up after his first birthday. He tends to reflux a lot more when he is more active. We have taken to trying to reign him in a bit after eating for a spell and it seems to help a lot.

I do give him Zantac when he starts flaring up a bit. Maybe give her some time upright before letting her scoot on her belly, see if that helps.

My littlest one has bad reflux, but he was miserable, not just spitting up.  My coworker has a little boy 4 days older than my Cam and her little one was spitting up.  They put him on Prevacid just 1/2 tab daily and it helped so much.  Her little one was spitting up quite often, but he never seemed in pain and it wasn't projectile like mine was.  Talk to your ped and see, but it could be from the tummy time.  I noticed the meds helped  for Cam though.alot

Girl, I was waiting for the invite!!  Just kidding - I could say the same to you!!  How's the spitting up thing going?  Remember my sister?  Her daughter (18 months old) has something called silent acid reflux.  Don't know much about it but Amanda (her name) had very little spitting up so there wasn't much clue.
