Temperature drop and miscarriage??

Temperature drop and miscarriage??

Hi everyone, I am new to this, but I am looking everywhere for some input so here it goes... I have had one miscarriage already. I am newly pregnant again - 5 weeks. I have been charting my temperatures and I have not experienced that "triphasic" thing people talk about. In fact, my temps keep fluctuating. I take my temperature at the exact same time every morning before doing anything. One day my temp will be up to 98.2 and the next it is down to 97.6... I am scared of another impending miscarriage. Can anyone tell me if you have experienced this and had a normal pregnancy? I'm just sick with nerves. Maybe I should just stop with taking my temperature?

I would be worried about a miscarriage if you had bleeding, cramping and your preg. symtoms (symptoms) disappeared entirely. I have no idea on the temp. thing??? I know our temps can change if we are stressed, etc. too so I don't know if that can affect it?? All the best, hoping for you that all goes really well.

I don't even think I would worry about that.  I've had 3 m/c and took my temps for the past two. I thought that as long as my temps stayed up, that I was safe.  Well, both times, my temp stayed high until AFTER I m/c.  They were never an indication of anything.  So you see, I thought I was safe with high temps and I wasn't.  If yours are low every now and then, it probably won't make a difference.

Try not to worry about your temps.  I had 3 miscarriages last year so I charted my temps every day at the same time when I found out I was pregnant again.  I did this until I reached 12 weeks.  My temps would range anywhere from 98.1-98.9.  Never got above 99 and never dipped below 98.1, but there was still a .8 degree difference on any given day.  Your drop in temp was only .6.  I know in my experience it was "normal".  Don't get me wrong though.  I was a nervous wreck all the time.  At 8 weeks my Dr. told me to relax on temp thing and that a pregnant woman's temp will fluctuate. In fact she told me to get rid of the thermometer so I did't obsess about it, but I didn't.  I guess she was right, I probably should've.  I'm 16 weeks now and doing great.

I wish you the best of luck and a happy and healthy 9 months!

Thanks for the comments ladies! I decided to put away the thermometer. We have been doing natural family planning for over 2 years now. It is almost second nature for me to take my temperature combined with my nerves every morning. But I did it. I stored it away being that I can't control the outcome of this little one anyway. I need to relax, take care of myself and be greatful for everyday and each milestone. Wow, what a rollercoaster! My HCG on Tuesday was 834 and then yesterday (thurs.) it was 1800. That's a good sign right!?
