Toenail Fungus

This is gross but I have a fungus problem on some of my toenails.  Does anyone know of something natural/non-toxic I can use on them to calm it down?  Since I'm pregnant I want to be extra careful on what I use.  I know most things are not going to cure it but can at least calm it down a bit.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Try rubbing Vick's Vapo Rub on your toenails twice a day. I've used Lamisil tabs before, but Vick's actually worked faster.

Try washing tour feet with dandruff shampoo it kills fungi and yeast. It’s the cheapest, harmless and affective way that I know of.(sblue)

I am a stylist and so I have seen a lot of nail fungus when doing pedicures.  I don't know of anything natural to use, but make sure that you DO NOT keep your toes moist at all.  That's one of the main causes of it.  When getting out of water, shower, make sure your toes are dry. Also if you put lotion on your feet and then put socks on, do not put lotion by your toes.

I don't know how it works, but I tried it after reading about it in a syndicated medical column in my paper (Dear Dr. Gott). I got a toenail fungus after a pedicure, and the Lamisil was improving it, but slowly. I found this article on the web. It's not by Dr. Gott, but someone else:

It may work better for some than others, but it's worth a try.

I've tried Selsum Blue shampoo before and it did not work.  Wouldn't the Vick's Vapor Rub keep moisture under the nail?

This isn't a cure by any means. just a cosmetic fix.
I have had toenail fungus for over 20 years.  I have gone to three different doctors and they all told me that the only real treatment is pills which are very expensive, not covered by my insurance and, according to all 3 docs, about as likely to damage my liver as to cure my toes.
So, I have learned to just accept my toes as they are BUT when I go to the beach, I put on "Kiss" brand "Everlasting French Pedicure Toenails" (available from any major drugstore).  I use super glue to hold them on and they last in the water and look really good.
There is another brand that has to be painted once on but, get ready for this- I am a dude so, its bad enough to be using fake toenails at all and getting ones that require painting is out of the question.  But, if I can do the fakes, surely a gal could do so. ha
I don't know if super glue on the toenails is a good idea and maybe covering the fungus up may even make it worse (haven't noticed that, though), but for me, I have good luck and it is nice to be able to go barefoot for a change.
