Trying again this month ...IUI

hi, Just wanted to let everyone know that AF finally arrived today(day 45 of a usual 28 day cycle), thanks to every one who helped answer some of my questions during the past few very confusing weeks :)  Were going to try another IUI this cycle but I'm not sure about the clomid again, has anyone used anything else? If found the clomid really seemed to mess up my system a little. For my last pregnancy in 2004 I used Femara i know there not recommending it anymore due to birth defects, but does anyone know of any other meds availble? Or has anyone usd clomid with IUI and had it work?I have a appt. tommorow with our fertility doc. (for US) and just wanted to have some options to discuss with him. Thanks for everthing, It's so nice to finally have someone to talk to , I wish I'd found this site 7 years ago when we first started TCC.

I have not had the IUI done, but I am going to this month. I am on my last day of clomid today and then we just have to see when I ovulate.  My dr didn't mention taking anything besides the clomid. Will this be your second attempt at the IUI?  This will be our first and I'm kind of nervous. I just hope that it works! Best of luck to you

There are other meds availabe especially in the injectable (shot)catagory- just let your doc know how your feeling and ask what else you can use.  Good luck!

Last month was my first Clomid cycle, but no luck. This month, my doc added estrogen and an hcg trigger shot. I just got the shot yesterday, so I don't know if it will work or not. I have not done IUI, but I've read that Clomid, hcg, and IUI are often combined. I'm sure the RE will have several options for you to consider, but that might be something for you to ask about.
