What are the real facts?

Hi ladies! One of my family friend's just got pregant while being on the patch.  My sister-in-law, our other sister-in-law and myself recently started the patch all at the same time ( 4 to 5 months ago) So whats the real facts? Can your possiblity to get pregant is the first week you have the patch on again to start a new month or is it the last week that you off the patch,  the week that your suppose to get your period.??? Clueless?  My ob said it'd the first week,  both my in laws ob said the last week?  So, unfortunaltly she's pregant!  Trust it's a good thing but for her she just had a baby a year ago and he's only one wearing size 5 clothing already.  What can I do to help her?  Anyways, can I also get pregant too, My husband and I do it both weeks anyways and we still didn't get pregant.  We already have a 1 1/2 year old b/g with down syndrome. She's the best...  Hope one of you ladies can help me with a answer.  Thanks a bunch!

I don't know how much this is going to help you but my sister got pregnant also on the patch and she got pregnant during the very end of the second week on her cycle.  She is now 7 months pregnant.  I'm just not sure how well that patch actually works.  Just a little info I thought I'd share.

That's not good.  I wonder if the patch wasn't all the way stuck in every corner? My doc said that for the first month on the patch you have to use backup.  The directions didn't say that though.  It's supposed to be a little more effective than the pill.  Interesting.

Forgot to add that my sister is only 17 and had been on the patch for a year.
