Well once again I have a yeast infection. I'm assuming this is coming back because I keep leaking pee or something and it's hard to keep dry down there. I had one probably 2months ago or so and my OB gave me diflucan which helped. Creams and inserts don't help my yeast infections. I hear so many womenWomen's way on here who's doctors advise against it or against any category C drug. My high risk OB seems to have no problem prescribing category C drugs to me or anyone. Should I be concerned??
The most common reason that yeast infection meds don't work is #1: Women rarely finish them, and #2: It wasn't a yeast infection to start with.
If you're constantly damp down there, you'll have to try to change underpants frequently, wear loose cotton granny panties, no pantiliners, and let the area dry out every chance you get.
I've been having extreme itching and i know the discharge is coming next if i don't do something now. My doctors tend to trust my own diagnosis I've noticed when it comes to this. I didn't even get a exam when I told him last time. I just said I have a yeast infection and he asked me if i wanted a pill or cream. I guess cause of my background he listens to me. I don't know.
As for the creams.... I always used the one day, but I guess those aren't as good. I would use that and it wouldn't work. I took a pill and it does work.
I've been trying so hard to change a lot and keep things dry.
I too have had yeast infections (what a pain) and have used natural ways to clear it like eating tons of plain yogurt...I don't want to invade so if you are interested in what I've used I'm more than happy to share it w/ you. Hope it clears up soon!!!
Oh no the post is open to anyone who has a opinion really. I've heard about eating yogart, but for some reason my stomach has never been able to stand yogurt. Any other ideas?
I've used Acidophilus which balances the flora in the intestines. That's where yeast loves to grow. There is a brand called Natren that has a formula for infants/toddlers/pregnant individuals. Also, if you can try to cut out breads and sugar (I know, not the thing you wanna do when your preg.) but this does work. I had a confirmed yeast in. in the 1st tri. and I did this for 5-6 days but I actually noticed results w/i 1-2 days. Another friend that I recommended this to said she noticed a difference in itchiness w/i the first day. There are also these acidophilus pills that are made of yogurt called "Acid.Pearls"and my pharmacist said it was safe and I took those 3/x's a day. That was amazing stuff! Try w/ that. The good thing about this is then you can continue taking it every couple of days to make sure it doesn't come back. Good luck, I hope it works for you should you try it!
If you are not 100% certain its a yeast infection, you need to go in to be sure. White clumpy cottage cheese discharge and intense itching, and usually redness around the vulva. If you have any other symptoms, or these are not your primary symptoms, go in to make sure its not something else.
