abnormal HCG levels ongoing

two weeks ago i carried out 2 pregnancy tests which were weakly positive. after having my bloods done my hcg levels were 13. the doctor explained this was very low and there was possibilty i was m/c or having an ectopic and would need to do bloods again in two days. i had them done 2 days later and they had rose to 15 hcg. the doctors asked for me to go again on 15/9 which was 8 days later as the expected the hcg to be below 10. tghe hcg level was 18. they are now asking me to wait until 22/9 for my bloods doing but i haven't got a clue whether i am pregnant or not. can anyone tell me if they have had a similar experience to mine and the rsult please as the doctors just cannot seem to help me have an understanding as to what is happening.

I'm sorry that you are going through this. I went though this not too long ago, last February I bought about 20 pregnancy test and they all said POSITIVE, but all of them are faint, except for the digital that says "PREGNANT" anyway, I went to the doctor and ask for blood test for HCG, it came back 54 which she said was very low. So I went again 2 days later and it was 63. She said I'm going to have ectopic/mc. A normal pregnancy, HCG doubles every 48 hours, so if you had a 15 it shoulda been 30 on the 2nd day, and 60 on the next and in your case it doesn't seem this way. Your doctor should have already told you this, that it wont be a normal pregnancy. I'm sorry. I myself ended up an ectopic pregnancy. I'm now trying again. Good Luck to you.

hi.  I am currently going through the same thing.  I had several positive hpt's, but my first HCG was only 11 and i began bleeding that day as well.  My dr said it was a chemical pregnancy.  I was bleeding for 2 weeks so i went back to the dr and he did another hcg which came back at 49... he was shocked because it should have went to 0 by then.  He did another HCG 2 days later and it was 69.  He told me I had an ectopic and I just got a shot of methotrexate last friday.  I had an hcg drawn today which he expected to go slightly up and then I go back friday at which point my HCG should begin to fall until it is 0.  I was told to wait 3 months to try again once my HCG is 0.  My only concern is that it has now been 23 days since my bleeding started and I am still bleeding... much lighter now, but still there.

Well I bled for about a month even after the methotrexate, my HCG continued to go up, on the 2nd shot that night I had that severe pain on my left side and my DH took me to the hospital that's when we found out that my tube has raptured (partially) and I had the surgery. I didn't wait 3 months, your HCG shoulda been less than 5 after the methotrexate because this will be the only way to find out if they got all the pregnancy out of your system (sorry tmi). After that, I was told to wait about 1-2 regular period, so about a month or two...anyway it's upto you. I hope you get a BFP soon too. I'm trying really hard now, using Clomid and PreSeed, we'll see I'm crossing my fingers and praying! Good luck!
