I actually like Blayze Elliot without the James. Blayze is one of the names I picked out but my DH said it was a stripper name. Go figure!

I like Elliot James. (my husband's name is James and my son's middle name is James...I love that name!)

I like Blayze Elliot. It sounds better than Blayze James to me. It rolls off the tongue better lol.

Kids whose names are pronounced as a more commonly heard name but spelled differently are in for a lifetime of explaining and correcting and spelling out.  For some kids (especially at young ages) this makes them feel very self conscious, especially if they have to correct an adult, such as a teacher.  (A friend named Lyndssay once told me she just wished her mom would have spelled it Lindsay, for that very reason.  She said it's not like the spelling gave her a pronunciation of the name that was different, so for all her lifetime of trouble it didn't even sound special.)  If it had been Blaze Elliot I would have considered it, but since two choices had the unusual spelling for Blaze, I voted for Elliot James.  Elliot James also has a nice classic (and classy) sound.  (BTW, Blaze *is* the name of a very famous stripper [girlfriend of the governor of Louisiana a while back] so that kind of is true.  I think a lot of men would associate Blaze the name of a stripper, or at the least think of it as a female name.)  What about some other version of Blaze, like Blazon?  Just my 2c worth, ignore it if you love the names!  LOL

I SSOOOOOOOOOOO   agree with Anniebrooke!  I have spent my ENTIRE life - spelling my name for everyone - I have yet to meet anyone else who spells their name Rebecka.  I also have never ever been able to find anything preprinted with my name.  I can remember as a child on vacation, my sister could always find something with the name Beth on it....and she always came home with some neat item with her name - I could never do that!    There is something to be said for giving your child a name that is special and unique - we had SEVEN Madisons in our preschool - but don't give them a name that is so unique or different that they spend their life spelling or explaining it.

I agree w/AnnieBrooke and Renogirl.  I spelled my girls' names slightly different (the older two) - their names are Allyson and Lesley.  While that doesn't sound too bad, it's impossible to find any cute little name charms w/the correct spelling and that's not fun.  Lesley likes her different spelling until she tries to find the above things but Ally doesn't.

When Rebecca came, I just kept the traditional spelling which made things slightly easier.  She goes by Becca & there are generally few things that have that name but always can fall back on 'Rebecca'.

Btw, I liked Elliot James - it just seemed to flow better.

Well I love Blayze Elliot. My daughters name is Trinity CheyAnne and my sons name is Tristyn Devon. Our next son will be Trevyn Eric and our next daughter will be Taylyn Maree.. We keep the first names unique and all have Ts and Ys and the middle names all have family signifigance. My name is Krista and I also could never find anything with my name on it as a child but I love my name and all through school I was the only one with the name "Krista" though I got called everything from Kristin to Kristal to even Kristian so I dont think the spelling of a name even matters as long as people actually know what your name is lol.

I like uncommon names I really like Blayze It looks better with the E the other way looks like it needs some thing. dont listen to any body, name him what you want and spell it how ever you want. it doesnt matter if you name him tom people are going to ask how do you spell that? it could be spelled tomm.  its your baby
