baby's heartbeat

Hi, I'm 16 weeks pregnant and at 13 weeks I was able to listen to my baby's heartbeat for the first time. Today however I went to the doctor and she was unable to find the baby's heartbeat with the doppler. She said that her doppler was not working properly for some reason(too much static). She said she wasent't worry at all because of the size of my uterus but i was very distressed. She finally did an ultrasound where we saw the baby, apparently the baby looked fine and she could see it moving( it was done very fast and I could not actually see anything) Still, I left wondering if anything was wrong and spent the evening worrying and crying... I guess I don't really have a question I'm just worried and sad...

Try not to worry.  If your baby was moving all around then that means the heart was beating away.  Sounds like she was right about the equip. malfunctioning.  My Dr. told me that sometimes the baby is in a little pocket that the doppler can't always pick up.  

I rent my own doppler from Baby Beats and it's such a worry saver.  Every time I feel uneasy I just use my doppler and check on it myself.  It's wonderful.

As Lisa the last poster did, I rented a doppler from babybeat.com and I love it... I can hear the heartbeat whenever I want, If I weer you I would call back and ask the nurse TELL the nurse rather that I was just trying to calm my nerves after what had happened and just wanted to reasure myself all was OK and wanted to double check that they DID see a heartbeat and the baby was moving and is fine. Hey Ladies- I was wondering what baby doppler you both rented? I just went onto babybeat.com and looked at the options.  I was going to go with the doppler that does not record because it was a little less expensive per month.

Hi, I went with the $22.00 a month, I got it the next day after ordering it, It was supposed to be a 2 dat delivery so I was shocked I got it so fast... I did go buy a hand held timer to keep up with the beats per minute, the gel they send you won't last long, i went to wal-mart and bought the generic self lubricant for $1.97 and it last a while and is much cheaper than the gel they sell... Now at 35 weeks I have a small spray bottle full of water I sray on the tip of the wand and it works perfect with NO MESS.. God Bless
