I've decided to tell my doctor that I want to schedule an elective c-section. I've been in and out of labor since 29 weeks, im now 36 weeks, He said at my last visit at 37 weeks "have at it" Do you think he will schedule the c-schedule at 37 weeks or 40? Im cerious.

They rarely schedule an elective C/section at less than 38 weeks.

Just remember that the longer that baby cooks the better off health wise it will be! Be patient! It will come soon enough! Then you can ask for a csection! Good Luck!

like they said the earliest is 38 weeks, you can get an amnio done to see if your babys lungs are developed but they normaly do that if your considered high risk! can i ask why you want a c-section? i believe you can get induced not sure if they would do it unless you we're over due or at high risk

usually c-sections are for emergencies or a medical reason. but some doctors do it. i am having one in three months. my doctor told me she will only allow me to have one at two or three days past 38 weeks .

Just curious, is it medically necessary for you to have a section?

@anxiousmomtobe  Does it really matter if it is medically necessary?  Women are allowed to choose how they want to give birth.  If they want to do and elective c-section, it is their decision alone to make.  There doesn't have to be a medical reason for it.
