can anything be seen on u/s at 5 weeks other than gestational sac?

hi everyone, i'm just wondering if a yolk sac, fetal pole, tiny baby/embryo can be seen on u/s for someone 5w1d...what about a heartbeat? i'm curious because tomorrow i have my first ob appt (i'm 5 weeks today) and my beta hcg levels were checked again today and much higher than expected...thought it would be around 7,000 (to be doubling approx every 48 hours)however my level was nearly 17,000 (16,902.6 to be exact)...so i'm wondering since my levels are nearly 17,000 would there be a chance something more than the gestational sac could be seen tomorrow if u/s is done?? let me know if you think it's way too early regardless of my levels...thanks, Steph

I went in at about 5 weeks and had an internal sonogram done.  They saw a very strong heart beat.

my doc told me at 20,000 he should see a heart beat-  so I'll bet you see one tomorrow!!  Good luck!

at 5 weeks all we saw was the gestational sac and yolk sac. don't freak out if you don't see more yet.

During my 5th week, when we first found out I was pregnant, they didn't see anything.  It took till I was about 6 weeks 4 days or something like that and was told that we were lucky to see it then.  Good luck.

At 5w3d I only saw a sac with a tiny little speck at the top, that turns out, is my baby! It was way too small to even measure fetal pole. I figured how far I was at that time by future ultrasounds. Good Luck!

I agree with that too...  sorry...  if you don't see more then that, you shouldn't worry- it is still very early-  tiredbuthappy is right...  I have never had an ultrasound that early-  I just know that I have heard a lot of people talking about levels and that being tied to u/s...  good luck!

hi i had u/s at 5wks 6days and they saw nothing (no sac) my levels were only at 1565 that day. They will defo see more with your high levels.It was at my next u/s 6wks 6days they saw sac, yolk and fetal pole (NO HB at that time)Back in this fri 8wk and 6days, so hopefully see the HB?

Good luck,early u/s arent always the best, but with your levels,the forsure will see something. Good luck, when is your appointment?
