differing pregnancy test results

I had a positive home pregnancy test on Saturday 6/4.  My period was due 6/3.  The next morning (6/5) I had a negative pregnancy test.  I took two more tests yesterday evening and this morning.  They both had a very very faint second line that you could barely see.  Does it sound like an early miscarriage or is it still possible that I could be having a baby in Ferbruary?

Girl I am going through the same thing. I'm glad someone is. I tested sat afternoon and got a very faint like had to look in sunlight to see it, then sun morning tested at 230 am and it was a darker faint but stil very very faint. Then last night i was in the er sick and they did a blood qualitatice test and that came up neg. So I wsh I had news for you i called the 800# for ept and they swore up and down it was positive, now im getting answers from my nurse the test blood test that is may have been to early to detect it. Have you tried usuing a diff brand i now tested with a ept and its negative, Im wondering if I got a bad batch or something....But I'm in the same boat as you, what brand test was it and are you having any symptoms?

a faint line is still a line. One or 2 days after your expected period is very early-- the tests may not be sensitive enough to pick up the hormones, and it may also depend on when you test, the type of test, etc.  
Sounds to me like you are preggers. You should go get checked by a doctor to confirm.  Congrats!

Happiface did what do you think about what i listed up above. I would only be like a wek and 5 days, do you think its to early for the blood test as they have to register a 15-25hcg hormone level before they will say positive like hpt. I have been so sick, kind of lightened up but so tired I have missed work for a week, I have no signs of af and im on a 25 day cycle thats why I say I wouldnt be that far along, my ob says to test again thursday and friday, So I guess there is some hope I am just so confused!

I was going to a fertility specialist because of several miscarriages-- so they were tracking me very closely...  I went for a blood test the day after my period was due-- and they confirmed I was pregnant. I had cheated and done a HPT the day before (couldn't wait!!) and it showed a VERY VERY faint line (like I swear maybe I even imagined it, it was so light!)
I don't know if there are different types of blood tests, but I know that I was very early when they did mine. Of course, my levels were low, but I had to go back the following weekand they had gone up.
Hope that helps a little- I know that waiting is the hardest part! Good luck.

The first two tests I took were clear blue easy digital tests. The second two were answer quick & simple.  I'm going to the doctor tomorrow, so hopefully I'll know more what's going on.  It's just hard to wait.  I really want this baby.

My breasts feel sore, I pee all the time, and I have a strange appetite.  The other day, before I even had the positive pregnancy test, I woke up at 4 in the morning starving and ate cold pizza.  That's not normal for me.

The digitals don't detect very early at all. The most sensative I have found are the Equate brand at walmart. Yopu may wnat to get one and try it.

I bought a grocery store brand hpt.  I was to have started my period on 02/03/05 but didn't. I took the test on 02/05/05 and there was a very faint line, but still a line.  I called my doctor and was given a blood test on 02/08/2005 and sure enough it was positive!  Hoping that your faint line means that a baby is on the way!

Isn't it agonizing having to wait and see for sure!  I'm sitting here, reading these posts, and I'm anxiously wondering: 'are they? aren't they?'.  It must be so much worse for you two to have to wait and see!!  I'll be watching and waiting for any official announcements!

Hey girl, you must have had a quantitaive which actually measures the exact amount of hcg in your blood, the one they did is a simple yes or no like the stupid hptd ughhhhhhhh I hate this, I really just gave everything over toGod it's doing me no good stressing if I am, Ive had 3 children and know the intuition feeling and I have that or maybe I want it to much who knows, but yeah theblood test can be the same I guess if its to early it wont detect it! So Im going to my gp tomorrow I think she will be alot more helpful than these dang er nurses!

I would be due sometime around Valentine's Day.  My cycles are not always regular.  I'm thinking that may be why I'm getting those results.  I'm sure I'm pregnant.  I thought I was due on Feb. 10.  It's probably later than that though.  I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow, so I will have them do a blood test.  Thank you everyone for you positive feedback.

Well girl let me know because I would be due the same time as you, im almost 100% sure I am to..going on 3 days late here never been late unless I was prego, so keep me posted....I think Im going to demand a blood test tomorrow that actually counts the hcg hormone instead of the one that just says yes or no, cuz sometimes in early pregnancy your homone count may not be to 25 like the blood test calls for, and you may wanna do the same! good luck!

I know you are going back to the doctor, but wish you would take it just a bit easier, emotionally.  If the HPT was done correctly, it was right.  There is usually no reason to go to the doctor to have a pregnancy "confirmed"...home pregnancy tests are virtually the same as used in the doctors office.
If it said you're pregnant, you are--if it was done and read correctly.

The Qualitative HCG test is a simple yes or no, and does not pick up extremely minute amounts of HCG.  It is the Quantitative test that you are wanting.  If the Qualitative test is negative and the woman still thinks she is pregnant, the advice is the same as for repeating a HPT--WAIT A WEEK AND TRY AGAIN.  The Quant test will likely lead to more anxiety over levels..at a time when you should be happy.  I'd stick with the Yes or No anytime.

I know it is hard to wait, but nothing magical will happen once the doctor "confirms" it.  Treat yourself well, eat right, and grow a baby.

Hey girl I really appreciate the feedback. The only thing is taking another ept today and it was negative unless I need that first morning urine all my signs and symtoms come back to pregnancy!!!! I have been just relaxing getting back to my normal schedule over looking the tiredness and put everything in Gods hands if I am eventually it will show right? lol Im going to go get some prenatals and take those just in case no need in risking this babys health over doctors and blood test...ept did say that their test are very accurate and this line is skinnier but you can see it very far away, and it is blue! And defintiley a + sign. But who knows I will have to wait i was demanding a hcg quant in the er to shwo a level and the doc said it dosent show in early pregnancy thats why i said i dont trust him it shows all the way down to a level 5!! Mine would be higher than that so who knows! Im going to try to just relax and let everything go, I havebeen on other sights trying to help ppl with their problems instead of focusing on mine....Since I would just be 2 weeks today or 1 week and 5 days do you think I should ask for a quant that detects the hormone tomorrow or just wait out and go over the blood work that was done last night with my dr...P.s. im going on 3 days late now never happened unless it was pregnancy been there done it 5 times 2 miscarries and 3 healthy babies, i have the intuition!!!! But you sound as if you know what your talking about here so whats your input on the test or just wait?

Ditto to Christie!  Having suffered two miscarriages now, I am really sure that I will just wait the next time and live my life, instead of worrying so much!  I literally drove myself crazy this time just wondering what the numbers meant etc.  My hubby is right- don't be so quick to use the pg test, just relax, sit back and relish the idea you may be pregnant again.  Why begin to worry right away, you have not control over the outcome anyway.  I wish only the best for you.

Well aunt flor came to town!!!!! Not upset, I think Im going to finish school before we try, we weren't trying this time, and I was a little bit nervous! But the ept test, I don't recomend it. It had a distinct line there saying positive I could be sitting across the room and someone hold it up and I could see it! So hey very confusing thing to go through, but I feel alot better now and haven't been sick, Good luck to all!

I went to the doctor today and the urine test was negative.  they did a blood test and I get the results this afternoon.  If it has any hormone level at all I take another one friday to see if it is rising or falling.  If there is no hormone it means I had a false positive with the clear blue easy digital pregnancy test that said Pregnant clear as day.  You can't misinterpret that at least so I don't feel totally dumb to think I was pregnant.

I have read most of your posts and find it interesting that I am in the same boat as you all. I had a miscarriage last august followed by 4 months of hormone in my system. I had to go to hospital for an evaucation to remove the baby. I had 2 more evaucations done plus a laparoscopy to remove a cyst 6 by 7cm big on my ovary. I have had a severe bleed back in December last year. I went back on to the pill as I was getting married in April and didnt want a bump to go down the aisle with. I have 3 children already a daughter who is 9 yrs, a son of 5 and a half yrs and another son of 3 yrs. I have had 1 abortion due to an ex partner, and 2 miscarriages. I went on my pill until march the 9th this year so it was rouhly 3 months of taking it. I had 28 day cycles with the pill. I had af on april 10th went 30 days so 2 days over before af on may 10th, I am awaiting af again this month, I though that I would do a test to see what is going on, I did an early one first response but didnt get any lines at all at first, I looked at it later and 2 lines had come on it, I did another one the next day with 1 line and another the day after 1 line but no af yet what are the chances of me being pregnant??

i did a pregnancy test about a mounth ago i was spotting and have been for two months know,i feel dizzy,tired,sick,and get more headaches i have also been putting on alot of weight. i am a bit confused as last time i got tested the nurse said that it if i got the dates wrong of when i last had intercourse it was either a negative or negative positive, does that mean i could still be pregnant? and does it mean it was to early to tell? i have recently handed in another test to be sent away and get the results next week! i am so confused omeone please advise me........

It seems that more and more women are going though this. I have done a home pregnancy test and it turned out positive, i have shown my partner and like most men, he has wanted me to do a second just to see whether it was a bad batch. The second test had a faint line but it was not as strong as the other cheaper version. I am off to the doctors tomorrow moring and will see whether my intuition is correct and that i am having a baby.

hey, i'm going through the same thing.  I had unprotected sex like 7 times and I took  a pregnancy test.  The first one I took had a fain line and then I took two more , the ones that say pregnant or not pregnant.  They both said not pregnant but i feel so sick so I dont know whats wrong with me I hope someone can help me out cuz I need to know if I am pregnant or not?

i have had 3 miscarriages in the past year. I have a disorder called robertsonian translocation. I just started trying to get preg. again and i am 3 days late but 2 first response test were neg. I want to be pregnangt soooo badly. has any one else had a neg test and ended up being pregnant

I was 5 days late for my cycle and i finally got it but it was so light and i am usually very heavy. I took an EPT test today 06-22-05 and it came up positive but the normal signs of pregnancyi haven't experienced is there a possibility i may not pregnant?
